Mmmmmosaic ipa. Proper west coast. Moderately aggressive finish. Lots of citrus, melon, berry, pine, herbs. Lingering resins. Pretty crisp. Body is on the lighter side for the abv. I love mosaic hops.

We got a Bavarian pretzel and mini corn dogs. Limited menu but good food.

[IMG] Tonight's Blind Battle Beer Tasting Lineup is bringing Oktoberfest into the season starting with revisit to last year's!

    1) Lift Bridge Getaway Pilsner (5.2%): A German-style pilsner from Minnesota with flavors of light lemon, bready and slightly toasty pale Munich malts. Smooth. Brought back after a hiatus.
    versus
    2) Bauhaus Wonderstuff (5.4%): A Czech-style pilsner from Minnesota that has lemon citrus followed by bready and salty flavors. A bready, but slightly bitter finish.

    3) Sierra Nevada’s Oktoberfest 2020 (6.0%): Last year's festbier style beer with flavors of orange, soap, and slightly toasty malts. Definite oxidation by now.
    versus
    4) Sierra Nevada’s Oktoberfest 2021 (5.5%): This year's switch to an amber Marzen-style that has flavors of soapy orange upfront, followed by some caramel and toasty malt flavors. Classic Sierra Nevada orange pine soap flavors once again.

    5) Odell Mango Tree Shaker IPA (8.0%): An imperial IPA from Odell with tropical flavors of peach, mango, and pineapple. Fruity, but not overpowering with the hops. A balanced smooth, sweet finish.
    versus
    6) Lagunitas Super Cluster IPA (8.0%): A strong and juicy IPA from Lagunitas brewed with Citra that has strong flavors of mandarin orange, pine, and caramel malt flavors. Bitter yet sweet.

    -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    Winners:

    2) Bahaus Wonderstuff:
This beer has an excellent balance of American lemon citrus hops balanced by bready european malts. One of my favorite Czech-style pilsners.

    4) Sierra Nevada's Oktoberfest 2021: No surprise this one wins because 2020 was oxidized, but surprised again with the strong orange/tangerine flavors from this beer. The classic Sierra Nevada orange pine soap flavor made its way into this beer yet again. Reminds me very similar to the 2020 version.

    6) Lagunitas Super Cluster IPA: This beer has great mandarinorange, pine, and some candied malt or caramel malt sweetness on the finish. Hoppy yet sweet. Not an imperial IPA fan, but probably one of the best ones I've had.
    ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Have you had any of the above beers and what did you think?
Have you tried the Sierra Nevada Oktoberfest 2021? Did you get the classic orange and soapy flavors in this beer?

Eighty three better than gold imperial dortmunder. This tastes like a Vienna lager but I can't complain. Super clean biscuit and toasty malts. Balancing earthy hops. No fruity yeast. Awesome. 4.1

We got more pretzels and corn dogs. Fuck yea

It looks like it’s edging a bit west to @tasterschoice62 neck of the woods.

When we bought this house about 30 years ago there was a hurricane Bob that scored a direct hit on the Cape. It made a mess and a lot of boats ended up on the beaches. The plus side was the tidal surge pushed all the kelp beds on the beach and they were loaded with scallops. They were allowing people with shell fish licenses to fill a bushel basket with them.
Life is circular, I’ll take a hurricane about every 30 years, I’ll be close to a100 for the next one. Cheers

Mrs. Mac is in Pennsylvania this weekend volunteering at a camp for autistic kids so Chambo the dog a I are fending for ourselves. We just returned from a long walk and I'm having ham and turkey sandwiches with our local Morristown Style IPA, hopped with Citra and Centennial. Very tasty all around. Cheers!
