Wow, considering my Doc made me (almost completely) stop drinking beer, and it had the effect of giving me a part-time, no-show job... did I just get a raise?

Here in CT Sea Hag is still $9.99 a sixer (often on sale for $8.99). Gandhi Bot is actually cheaper than it's ever been at $13.99 a four pack. I remember not too long ago (2018) when packies were charging $19.99 and before that because of low supply and high demand some unscrupulous packies would break up four packs and sell the singles for seven to eight bucks a pop.

That being said, get ready for more inflation and the USD slowly being phased out as the world's reserve currency. Things are going to get a lot worse before they get better.

Growler fill is about twice as expensive as 6-pack around here. That's before you account for travel.

Lagunitas replaced the Brown Sugar in Brown Shugga with Cane Sugar in this years Brown Shugga release.:persevere::sob:

Truthfully? No I don't expect things to get better. But I'm trying to be the glass half full guy here. Optimism is dying...

I remember the late 70s and 21% interest rates quite well. Don't get me started.

Well, they say it's whole cane sugar - I assume demerara. This would actually be a more purist version, since "brown sugar" as we see it at the grocery store is made by mixing white sugar and molasses.

My mother's side of our family was Dutch, and I'd put them up against your Scots. Heard of going Dutch? My wife would say I retain "some" of that "thriftiness".

My thoughts pretty much, I have already seen the creep with non specialty beers going into 4 packs and costing $11+. But once the house was paid off, I was like yeah my beer budget has been increased.

Isn’t this why we’ve got cellars full of whales to weather inflation?

What the hell. Now they're going to need to call White Shugga. :unamused:

Good thing I have cheap taste… at least cheap for now. I’m still seeing $15 for the 30 pack I typically go for (knock on wood that’s stays for a while).

I long ago gave up the notion that more expensive is more better and now work on separating the sizzle from the steak.
