Right after I posted I thought “should’ve tagged Mike. He knows TH lagers better than anyone I know”.

This sounds like a plan. I do of course want to pick up some IPAs and stouts too, since that’s their jam. And even if the lagers are good, I doubt they’ll match up to some of the heavy hitters in New England (which is a tall task).

I’m thinking a mix pack of the stouts and of IPAs too. I’ll be with two others, so maybe we’ll just get a mix pack each.

Logistics questions (yeah, I’m a pain in the ass, I know).

1). Should we preorder in the morning before leaving, or can we just have a beer and decide while we’re there what to get? Then order our to-go order online while hanging out there?

2). I noticed their site says you can do half pours of anything 16 oz. or more (except Lukr pours). Does the half pour count as half a draft, or one draft? (Considering you’re limited to two draft pours while there)

    Thanks again!

Sorry to be late to the party bud! All excellent suggestions above.

Definitely try any of the marzen or Festbier options. I enjoyed each! Also an Altbier for me is a no brainer if available.

Definitely try the oak aged lagers!

    Skip the dry hopped.

try nomad! Free and Roam for helles style!!!

Most important, get what you love and have some fun!!!

    @AlcahueteJ

    1. I always order before I hit the road there and normally they are done tweeting out anything new for the day. That way it’s done and I can enjoy my pours then snag my order when I’m ready to leave for home. You can certainly do it either way. Personal preference.

    2. I don’t think they do “half” tickets on draft. If you split one, maybe it only counts for one person’s ticket. Unsure on how that works as I’ve never split a draft. Also, the limit is usually 3 pours on quieter days, M-Th, and 2 on busier days.

Two half pours count as one ticket total, but you have to get them both at the same time.

Yes, my approach last time was to split a ticket between one of their big stouts which can get a little too sweet/sticky with a full pour, along with a half DIPA. Then go to the classic styles bar; on that particular day I couldn't decide on a lager so went with whatever 5% pale ale was on at the time. While the tickers go crazy about the KJJJJJJ variants, I'll maintain that their suite of pales (Beneficiaries of Chance, Pride & Purpose, Tornado, Lights On or Out) is their peak for me.

Tree House and Fox Farm are basically equal travel times from my house, so I usually choose TH for almost entirely ales and FF for mostly lagers (and saison bottles). After reading the above I'm definitely switching it up and splitting my next TH allotment. And I'm absolutely a sucker for oaked lagers ::chef's kiss::

This sounds like the route to go for me. My brother made a good point too. There's three of us, we could always split the drafts ourselves and sample (I'm sure we could just use an empty glass or something).

Thanks so much guys, MUCH appreciated it. Looking forward to it.

You can all meet me at Notch in Brighton sometime, first round is on me!

    Na zdraví!

Mr. Money Bags! If we all show up at the same time, it's going to be a big bill!

It'll probably be less than I spend at Tree House tomorrow...

Thanks again for the tips everyone.

Got a big ol’ mug of Vienna and the Nomad. Both were good, but you guys were right. Nomad off the Lukr was damn good.

Picked up cans of Very Green, Very Hazy, Julius, JJJuliusss, Moment of Clarity, Doubleganger, At Ease, Whisper, Juice Machine, Rover, Permanence, Little Fire, and Nomad.

    Oh, and an IPA glass and a snifter…because I’m a glassware *****.
