    We ended up with 25 nominees. To whittle that down, I counted breweries that got more than 2 nominations, which was 7. List, IN ORDER, your favorite 4 breweries from that list. Scoring will be on a modified version of the Formula 1 auto racing format: 1st = 10 points, 2nd = 5, 3rd = 3, and 4th = 1. Highest point total next Monday morning will win a fabulous prize. Or, a stick of gum. Or something.

    Fair Isle
    Fremont
    Georgetown
    Holy Mountain
    Reubens

    My 4:
    1 - Georgetown
    2 - Cnut
    3 - Bale Breaker (Although I am still very pissed off at them for fucking up Field 41)

    Bale Breaker was on my nomination list, but Terry’s post reminded me that I too am angry at them for Field 41. So they shall suffer the wrath of my snubbing.

    *You know what? I loved Field 41. It was the household beer of Casa Rock before Bodhizafa. I got my brother in law to serve it at his wedding. It was Beertunes at the time, now @BBThunderbolt, who said as indicated above that they changed the recipe and it was bad. I must have taken his word because I have never had the new recipe. Had it in my hands a few times, but then found something else. Very strange. Not sure if I should try for science at this point or just let the memory live on.

    In the early returns, Reubens leads with 16 points. Bale Breaker, Fremont, Georgetown, and Holy Mountain are tied for 2nd with 11.

    It's been 4ish years now, the same time the did the rebrand of the cans. They changed the recipe, drastically, and upped the ABV. It was light, sharp, crisp, dry, and highly drinkable. Now, it's more akin to Topcutter and Bottom utter (which, in fairness, might have been the goal: to have 3 very similar beers at 3 different ABVs), well, why bother? Just either jump into a Topcutter, or, as I've been doing, buy some Johnny Utah.
