This has probably been discussed in another thread, but what about sequential ratings? Often I try a beer more than once and my rating may vary from time to time. I usually update my rating with the most recent, but sometimes I just want a list of sequential ratings and reviews of the beer I've tried. Some are far worth more than one rating/review.

Yes. Being able to review a beer more than once has been mentioned in recent update threads, and it's a feature that I plan on eventually bringing back.

I always have told friends that I had no illusions that anyone cared about what I thought about a beer. I suppose there is solid proof of that since my 695 reviews have never had a single like,. I remind myself that I review these beers for my own diary of the beers that I have had and what I thought about them.

When the subject of having had a beer or not comes up, I often used to find myself not sure, or unable to recall if I either might of had said beer, of if I did have it if I liked, or what I might have not liked about it.
Having done BA reviews now for some 14 years my BA diary allows me to dial up that beer and what I said about it.

As someone who has reviewed (not rated) all of my 695 beers, the change and new philosophy statement of "TIME TO EMBRACE RATINGS," along with the subsequent dropping of the 150 character requirement that when reached brought a quick pop up of "thanks, we love reveiws" comes across as no longer embracing actual reviews. Ratings are fine, but they lack detail of why.

I am sorry to see this change, and feel your lowering standards. Traffic at the expense of standards is the way of the internet.

Liking reviews has been disabled for some time, so even if someone wanted to "like" your review, they couldn't.

We do live in an increasingly superficial world. Shrug. These changes reflect the reality of things. These days: "I cannot possibly be bothered to read what others think, but, they damn well best read what I think".

    Shrug. Our modern world.

The words one uses are what hangs for folks to pick. A good honest to God thought or statement finds it way through the maelstrom.

Still think you should try bringing it back.
Untappd has “toasting” and IG & FB etc have the option to “like” posts. In fact we can currently “like” posts on ba.
It sounds a little cheesy but I’d use it. It would encourage me to review and read reviews.

I like to write, so as long as I can review a beer (I have reviewed every beer I have tasted and rated on this site), I'm good...Keep up the good work!

(And yes, an app would be wonderful)

    What the heck happened.

The beer "recent ratings and reviews" has just become more difficult to use / useless for me. Now I have to scroll through all the rankings to read reviews with no way to filter by experienced reviewers like in the past, unless they have poobah status. URGH!

And I cannot see how many reviews the poobahs have, nor can I filter by member with highest # of reviews regardless of karma status. Double URGH.

You can still see his ratings/reviews. Over 3,500.

Don't I first have to find a beer, then scroll through all the poobaaaaaahhhh ratings/reviews til I get to his?

I appreciate the profile page. I can see all reviews of the individual and see how their palate may match mine or I can infer a filter based on a bias or two.

I don’t think I can answer this question, if it is indeed a serious question. @Todd is there a tutorial or something?

Can’t you just click on the user’s name (under their avatar) here in the forums, then click on the number next to Beers in the pop-up/overlay?

Yes that is the way it works for most folks, but some have put a lock on their profile so only some people can view it. Kind of like the secret handshake club.
