    I'm glad that I'm thankful for this Double Nugs right now. I'm pissed off at MLB. I mean literally. I don't even want to get started. I shall remain thankful with the awareness that this is not the last time I will be disappointed while I'm alive and breathing. Disappointed would be an understatement. I love you. Cheers!

    I'm usually a big fan of Het Uiltje, but this was not quite to my taste, hopefully their BIPA I have lined up next will turn out a lot better!

    Het Uiltje - Simcoe And Wakatu (DIPA): Overall, this makes for an enjoyable enough old school IPA that is quite bitter, but also quite sweet and floral. Not really for me, but not bad either.

    @Urk1127 - The dimple mug was the best thing about that beer, but thankfully they took care of me. Best wishes on your weight loss. I gained back the weight I lost a few years ago the past four months, but getting my walking in and adjusting the diet with a target to get to senior year HS weight by year end.

    @Blogjackets - Glad you were able to get the PB Eugene. I snoozed and lost out on the VSOR release. Meh.

    @TheIPAHunter - Fully agree w MLB. Will likely just stick with my rotisserie. The move to 8/10 team playoffs turned me off in the 1990s, a move to 12-14 + teams will render the 162 game “championship season” a glorified exhibition like the other sports.

    On to the beer, stopped in for HH at Chicago Brewing Company after a nice Thai lunch.

    New to me seasonal.

    Chicago Brewing Company Galaxy Explorers

    Brewer Notes:     IPL, 5.5% ABV, $6 16 oz.

    Appearance: Orange tan clear, nominal carbonation, creamy tan white head leaves periodic lacing. 3.25

    Aroma:     Nice galaxy hops, citrus, tangerine, peach. 3.75

    Taste:     Consistent with the aroma, bursting with sweet flavor, citrus, tangerine, tropical fruits. Sweetness somewhat held in check with a nice hop bitterness, lemon pine. 4.0

    Mouthfeel:     Dry, bitterness builds as i continue, likening it. Drinks at the ABV, light easy drinking. 4.25

    Overall:     This is a solid IPL, galaxy hops shine through, full flavor, lighter alcohol. Works for me, one of the better beers I’ve had here. 4.25

    A number of family birthdays today. Mine was yesterday. My daughter’s birthday is today as is her husband’s and their daughter’s. To add to it, my other son-in-law’s mom’s birthday is today.

    Whiskey barrel stout brewed by Boulevard.
