Ok, I found it but it's behind a paywall. Something about a biofuels plant. I don't recall hearing anything about that from my folks. Perhaps they assumed it would be news in Spokane - it wasn't. Next time I talk to them I'll inquire about it.

No it was in the Tri- City Herald. When I get home, I'll see if I can find a usable link.

Short version: somebody promised to build a big facility on Port property, and, well.....

You have a library card? That's how I read the Hairball, and get access to the others. I suspect if you poke around a bit.....

What I don't have currently is a library in useful range. They're currently rebuilding the downtown library and the closed the only other branch that's even vaguely convenient for me.

I am researching biofuel plants that ended badly in Pasco, and have discovered there were two different ones! Both were scams that defrauded investors to the tune of millions.

    :joy:

Not good Pasco. Well maybe I got the correct one.

Hey the focus should a new brewery (but this is more interesting at the moment).

The other one was called Gen X Power, I believe. But I think they were not based at the Port of Pasco office, so the one in question is probably Green Power. That seems like an out of the way place for a brewery, btw, at least if you're counting on in-person consumption.

With county commissioners of the caliber of Clint Diddier, I'm not surprised. Guy spoke at Kennewick High's graduation in 1991. Or rather, was supposed to speak. He completely forgot about it and spent the day happily working on his farm in Eltopia. The best part: according to the article in the Herald, the theme of his speech was "Punctuality" and the importance of showing up! What a tool. Friends don't let friends elect NFL players to important positions.

Back to beer: I'm seeing more posts from Common Language Brewing on fb. They are inching closer towards opening. With the economy still emerging from the pandemic and now being assailed by higher energy costs due to Russia vs Ukraine, I'm not sure Spokane isn't at the breaking point for new breweries.

The BPL has an option to sign up for a card on-line., I'd suspect the Home of Bing Crosby's Hairpiece does as well. Let me poke around for a moment, now that I'm home, with a can of Rogers Pilsner in hand.

So, maybe google: "green power biofuel" (I think the story of who ran the scam) . Or "Panda Holding LLC" (the guy who is trying to make some of his money back.).

Sounds like he wants to build a production sized brewery on the Port of Pasco property that was used to be built as a eco-friendly, yaddda yadda.....

Doesn't seem that I'm able to link or cut n paste. Fucking technology.

It is the lead story in the Monday 3/7/22 edition.

    I tried.

No mention yet of Hale's closing? 39 years.

    A few Bellingham tidbits:

North Fork has acquired (AFAIK) their first brewery assistant, Alex. She moves over to NF from Aslan.

The folks at El Suenito posted some pics of their brew system being built down in Vancouver. Hoping to take delivery in May.

Apparently, Zeeks will finally be getting their system up and running again, also aiming at May.

Still crickets from Darach. They post pics of the remodeling work, but no details about actually brewing.

Burke-Gilman and Boundary Bay will doing an ImpIPA collab soon. They are the only two Washington breweries to have won the Alpha King award.

This was an odd article, particularly the sections about Mirage and Bizarre. If Kendall actually read the Instagram accounts he linked to he’d know a lot about Mirage’s new location as Michael has been very transparent about the details. It’s all there and in the emails he sends out to anyone who wants them. The address is available and people are welcome to come check it out on Fridays and buy 4-packs of cans. Same with Bizarre. Dude worked at Holy Mountain while getting it off the ground and has been doing small home batches of mixed fermentation stuff and freely sharing the info with anyone willing to read the posts.

But, not everyone uses the Gram. I have no interest in it, and I had never heard of Mirage. They don't seem to get talked about here either. Shrug.

Yeah, but it’s your not job to know this stuff. It is his. He acts like they’re these mysteries when there is information easily out there that he even posted links (Instagram links, even) to in his article. It just felt lazy.

I talk about Mirage. They make great IPAs, lagers and mixed fermentation beers. [shrug]

The article was a bit odd. I can’t go only weekly beer jaunts to Seattle, but I’ve been enjoying Michael’s beers for almost three years now. Definitely some of the better IPAs out of Seattle.

I think I've had a couple beers from Mirage at the Spokane Brostick. Only place I've seen them.
