What Beer Are You Drinking Now? #3541

Starting the evening session with a Hopsecutioner. I picked up (eBay) a new control panel for the 2001 929RR, the FL sun has about killed mine.

 

Fiddlehead Mastermind DIPA. Ok, this was (is) an important beer to me, the first true NEIPA I ever drank, back in 2014 (?), when it came in those crazy black-and-white 12oz cans. I'd never had a beer that tasted anything like it, like fresh-squeezed orange juice + cannabis. I hadn't had it for at least 6-7 years, and I finally have some due to the efforts of @mkeckjr (thanks, man!). I've had an awful lot of NEIPAs under my belt since then, but I'll have to say, this still holds up. Not quite as mind-blowing as it once was (how could it be?), but I'm very happy to have it back in my glass.

Moving on to a Perennial Daydreaming Witbier. The last Witbier I tried was by St. Bernardus so this isn’t getting a fair comparison. It’s good, but Tokyo was phenomenal.

 

Structures Elk Street Lager. A nice 4.5% rice brew. Easily quaffable.

That has to be the lightest looking beer from them (not that it's a bad thing). And as far as Witbiers go, it's hard to beat Allagash White...when it's fresh!

Getting the holiday weekend beering started with the very aptly named “quiet evening” ipa from
Finback. Wife and son are away so I’ve the house to myself all weekend for the first time in - maybe ever since we moved in in 2020. Dealt with a mulch pile, a downed tree, doing some cooking, gotta weekend of projects and ballgames and hopefully naps ahead.

 

Nasir Jones is a legend! No doubt about it.

Oh hey guys.. it's been a while. Day 1 of my 10 day staycation.. went to Open Outcry.. didn't realize they only had 2 of their beers on draft..hhmm..I think they're lost once Will, their old head brewer left. Oh well.. IPA and Kolsch

Bill Evans, Inner Spirit, 1979 concert at Buenos Aires. I can't get enough of this since I found it. His last trio, and some of his best playing of his career. Which is saying something.
