That's a great coffee stout, need to stay on the look out for their next release of it. Still catching up on some previous threads, but noticed when you bought your new Oklahoma Joey smoker. Looks awesome and glad your getting nice weather to enjoy Summer grilling season!

I'm hoping to enjoy on draft down the road. Cannot drink these everyday between the cost and calories, but will add this to the buy a few bottles when you see them and enjoy a few times a year. Congratulations on becoming a Moderator. Always nice to have a fellow WBAYDN VB drinker keeping the bar fun and safe!

Tonight’s Blind Battle Beer Tasting Lineup:

1) Fair State Pils (5.1%): A German-style pilsner from Minnesota with flavors of lemongrass and crackers malts. A yeast, full, and clean body. A bitter finish.
versus
2) Maplewood Pulaski Pils (5.1% ): A dry-hopped German Pils from Chicago with flavors of pale malts, light cracker and lemon sweetness. Flat.

3) Mason Ale Works Strata Revengeance (8.0% no canning date): A NEIPA from California with Strata hops for mild flavors of tropical orange citrus, bitter pine. Subdued.

4) Equilibrium Strata Points (8.0% canned 4/20/22): A NEIPA from NY with Strata hops for flavors of strawberries, mango, pineapple, and tropical fruit.

Winners:

1) Fair State Pils: Among my favorites for a German Pils. Always one of the best. Nothing new here. It hits all of the marks. Maplewood was disappointing. Dry-hopped, and maybe it declined with age, but it was canned only 3 months ago. Hard sell to drink a pilsner fresher than that.

4) Equilibrium Strata Points: Second EQ now to overflow upon opening. I do let it warm at room temp for a couple minutes and roll the can once or twice to unsettle the bottom. Nothing crazy though. Nevertheless at 4 months out still drinks well. Nice Strata - strawberry and mango flavors. A little oxidation shows, but I remember this one being off the charts when fresh. Mason Ale Works was a dud on this one and not even worth comparing to EQ.
