That Ken Schmidt Chocolate Mint Stout was so good!

 

Went by Beachwood HB this afternoon and picked up some CCBA and a crowler of the Electrohop. Really enjoyed the Electrohop at the anniversary party and picked up as much as possible. Garden Grove location was out of it but luckily I was able to try the CCBA which is another excellent beer.

 

Iron Fist was bizarre. Velvet Glove was one of the best stouts in San Diego for awhile and every other beer tasted awful.

 

Cosmic Lust

 

NZ and Double-Fu are awesome. NZ-Fu doesn’t have a WC hop profile, way more fruity but still really good and still comes across as a WC ipa

Heading home from SEA. Had the Cosmic Lust at Cloudburst. So delicious. At the United Club in SEA they had Space Dust. Nothing like the original SD.

 

Man this Death Coast from RiiP is tasting mighty fine right now. A perfect 5.5 in this 78 degree heat. Enjoying this last day off before going back to work for 2 days.

 

78 Degree Heat??? That sounds like cool inside air conditioning temps...... 100 degrees today here. Extreme Heat warnings for the weekend with a predicted high of 111 degrees in the Sac Valley on Labor Day/Monday.

Cracked this PPort/Stone Collab to cool off. Solid WC offering at a solid Trader Joe's $ price point... CITRA, MOSAIC, MOTUEKA and CENTENNIAL hops.

 

Hey, he did say he was going to have to work for 2 days, so the 78 degrees can be unbearable with that added stress.

 

It’s 82 here at LAX today. But over 110 on the rooftops working on our rooftop ac units. Ain’t no fun in the sun.

 

I've been on a Berryessa Separation Anxiety kick. The Mini version (session) is just as good. Modern clear IPA with all mosaic hops.

 

Not sure if this is a new recipe, but solid. Ghost Town - The Descent

 

I was planning on grabbing the PP Summer Oasis that a couple people posted about, but this one (Extended Getaway) was fresher by a few weeks at my local TJ’s. It’s good, a little interesting though. Could be the strong flavors of what I just ate for dinner sitting around in my mouth, but comes off like a juicy IPA at first and then goes to a grass/hay-like bitterness. I’ll try the next one before I eat.

 

Went to a nice family dinner at Karl Strauss last night and I’ve forgotten how good their beers are. Fresh Aurora is excellent and I tried their tangerine ipa was great. I’ll have to make my way down to BJs and see if they have stepped it up

but this was wow! Especially at 5.8%, really potent for that ABV. Need to go find more!

 

Wayfinder is my favorite brewery atm I think

 

I don’t drink a lot of double IPA these days but I had a couple of cans of Urban Slice, the collab between UR and Slice. Really good balance and an easy drinker.

 

Strata rocket by north park is really good. The aroma pops from the glass.
