I haven't had anything from Funk Brewing in a minute. Here's an interesting take on one of their flagship brews (Citrus) feat. Nelson Sauvin. Did somebody say Nelson? This isn't exquisite, but it's certainly an interesting take on the original. I like it. Peace...

And here's something not everyone might know, this was the original version of I Want It That Way from Backstreet Boys. P.S. They wrote this version themselves... Legends...

 

As is birthday tradition, I'm opening up an old Thomas Hardy's Ale barleywine. This one is 47 years old. Perhaps @Bitterbill would want to open a Courage stout of roughly the same age? This is incredible. No carbonation left, of course. The nose is rich toffee and dark fruits. Figs, old leather-bound books, old port, and wonderful malty notes. This one has been stored in good conditions, based on the nose. The taste is awesome, with intense black licorice, along with toffee, dark fruits, port, tobacco, and leather. It's good to be alive. Cheers all.

 

Hop Harvest: Chinook, a NEIPA from German brewery Fuerst Wiacek (6.8%).

While I do realize that this is a NEIPA, being single-hopped with Chinook made me expect this to be one of those NE/WC crossover IPAs and I was quite looking forward to how they might incorporate the resinous bitterness of Chinook into the NEIPA style. Unfortunately, they just didn't.

 

Time for some hops!



I don't know why I buy Sip of Sunshine in any quantity less than a case. It's always gone too quickly.
