The BoDeans were the “it” cow punk band when I was an undergrad in the 80s…Love & Hope & Sex & Dreams burned up our party turntables/keg parties at WVU…I finally got to see the band live at Summerfest 2015 in Milwaukee…awesome show…rock on y’all!

I’ll make no promises, but I will try to not post this beer in this glass too much during the collegiate fall sports season.


My second favorite team, from PA, squeaked out a win last night in Big 10 play, so the right foot has started off things leading into the weekend gane vs Richmond.

 

Taking today off—so a 4-day weekend. Sweet!

Just got home from taking my daughter out for a driving lesson. We’ve mostly been sticking to parking lots and cemeteries but today she drove for the first time in an actual residential neighborhood. We don’t have many areas with wide streets, low traffic, and minimal cars parked on the street but I found a pretty good spot for this first “real world” drive. She did great. Still freaked out a bit whenever a car was coming toward her from the other direction, but she’ll get used to it. Practice, practice, practice.

Now I’m gonna pull some ribs out of the freezer to smoke later this weekend and enjoy this new-to-me beer from Reuben’s Brews in Seattle. Cheers!

Happy Friday All! Spent my day detailing my car. My daughter’s Jeep is on the docket for tomorrow. She and my wife will be off to NYC to see Harry Styles at MSG!

 

Nice! Such a smooth drinking clean Lager here. Earth Rider Precious Material Helles Lager. Tid bits of lawn work remain but I'm slowin' down and just want some more beer. Cheers!!

 

Goose Island 2021 Bourbon County Brand Cherry Wood Stout, 14.2% ABV. This tastes a bit better than fresh. Maybe that's because this is Friday night.

Another hazy from North Carolina: Wilmington Brewing's Pandamonium. Man, this is tasty! The island is really filling up for the holiday weekend. Tomorrow it will be too crowded to do the things I like to do (including going to breweries on the mainland). So I think we'll head home for a couple of relaxing days before reality begins again. Being back here in 2 weeks will be completely different - and better. Cheers!

 

Work has been particularly hard this week. Time for a 3-day Time for some beer.

Onto round 2 & 3, finishing off Old Leg Humper from Thirsty Dog. A solid sessionable Porter.
Came across a Mickey Gilley song and it reminded me of my summer of 1983 as a 20 y,o. hanging out with my older brother in Houston. GIlley's was the hot spot at the time, a huge bar/meet market. Ah, the good old days!
