Saint Arnold H-Town Pils, and I made my Mom's Italian Beef recipe. Its always pretty damn good, and a wonderful pairing. The Bear ain't got nothing on my Mom's Central Illinois cooking ha (let alone most the restaurants around town trying to copy it now ha).

And I can't get enough of this good weather, courtyard time, I missed you.

Hey bro - I'm scheduled to get the new Moderna vaccine this coming Weds at 11:00 am. Kevin says he's going to get it as well. Let me know if you get it as well since I will probably put a jam together in the late fall with you, me and Kevin if we're all vaccinated with the latest.

Covid is still a thing, Kevin was telling me one of his wife's best friends just died from it after battling it for a month while on a ventilator - 52 years young and in good health. I don't know if she had been vaccinated or not. Stay well my friend!

Feels like the first day of Fall here, dark cloudy upper 60s F, after a warmer than usual summer here plus a muggier two weeks than Summer normal in Vegas. Two weeks and days left on the astrological calendar, so Fall's permanence is just an illusion. Thankfully, this beer is not.

I have been meaning to pick up a copy of One Solders War, but haven't gotten around to it yet...or is it that I haven't found it at my local used book store yet?

 

What it is, fellow Beer Advocates? Just finished some ribs (smoked for ~2 hours on my shitty electric smoker, then wrapped in foil and into the oven on low heat for another hour, then finished quickly on the grill for a little char) and pulled the cornbread out of the oven. Paired with a fresh Ayinger Oktoberfest, which goes great with the spicy smokiness of the ribs and the sweetness of the cornbread.

My wife and I celebrated our 23rd anniversary yesterday, and I’ve been enjoying some fantastic U.S. Open tennis all weekend. Hoping for a Kyrgios-Tiafoe men’s final. Happy Labor Day! Cheers!
