I tried Goose and Karbach. was not remotely impressed with either beer.

Where were these beers brewed? Or can we tell?

What is the collaboration? Looks like a mix pack. Not buying this pack but have made a purchase of other mix packs from them when it was on sale for $12 a 12 pack.

Edit, maybe it was cigar city or goose mixers. Have made goose 12-15 pack mix on sale.

    Enjoy

I have a feeling that each beer was brewed at its respective brewery, and the only collaboration was to get them packed into a common case box at some convenient location.

It reminds me of the last Hunter S. Thompson/Billy Carter collaboration: The Spirit of Hunter and Billy Oktoberfest Pickled Marzen, at 11% ABV.

    It's just business. Nothing personal.

Based on the TTB info and in the case of the GI beer, its label, that appears to be true for every beer other than the Goose Island Oktoberfest.

I picked this one up in a 4 pack today. Will be excited to see how these are as I haven't tried any of these, even though some have suggested they might be sub-par. Agree I don't see any obvious common denominator among these breweries.

Besides the obvious one? I mean, it's going to be a lot easier to distribute a multiple brewery variety pack when they are all distributed through AB's wholesale network.

Not that a "common denominator" has ever been necessary for a true collaboration (which this ain't, of course) between breweries other than "Hey, we like these guys...".

I picked up a six-pack of the Karbach one at Sprouts the other day. Not too bad, but I didn’t realize at the time that Karbach was an AB brand. Perhaps that’s why I didn’t hate it…

Shoot. When I saw this tread title, I was hoping it would be Oktoberfests from Spaten, Löwenbräu, etc.

I could be getting the details wrong, but in previous years they were doing a bunch of collaborations between Spaten and the American brewers. I realize this is different from your post, but it's just a tangent. I think last year they put out a Golden Road / Spaten collaboration and in 2020 they did a Devil's Backbone / Spaten collaboration and a Blue Point / Spaten collaboration.

I missed a Spaten/Goose Island collab a few years ago.

I haven’t revisited it since I read this thread but my guess is it’ll still be just fine.
