Oh hey my lil' hops plant actually did cone in this drought! Scrappy & late this yr but it'll be transplanted to a better spot w some wire & such. Pretty sure this one was given to me 20 yrs ago. Catty, dank & hearty. Would need an experienced brewer/hop nerd to tell what they are but I would love to eventually make some beer with 'em. Summit Triumphant. Amazing weather here today. Cheers!!

 

Monday again. Weekends are too short! Oh well, back to it. Decided to give my liver a break. This actually a pretty good NA American IPA from Right Side Brewing. I actually like this better than Athletic's Run Wild NA IPA.

 

White Elm Single Barrel S'mores Stout, 13% ABV, vintage 2019, unknown barrel. My third rated beer at 4.77. They've released variants of this since, using various barrels, but this has been the best, with the Blanton's barrel variant coming in at 4.67. I'll do a side-by-side comparison sometime.

Real nice fall day here, perfect for cleaning and re-arranging the garage for the first time in 10 years. I've got someone looking to buy my classic car, so I was gathering all the spare parts/manuals/etc.

Canned 09/22/22.

Moderate to vigorous pour yields a nearly one inch white head over a hazy golden body with minimal lacing.

Nose is a bit floral with aromas of bread and maybe a bit of grassy hay.

Taste is bread, a bit of spice, and a hop bitterness on the finish.

Nice, medium full mouthfeel.

Overall, very drinkable and a bit unique; definitely nowhere near the Oktoberfest vein, that's why it's a Festbier. I'd have another; so should you!
