A true "tanker ship" - liquid shipped inside built-in ship tanks? Or just transported via ship in standard portable tanks, usually stored inside standard shipping containers on a container ship? Wouldn't seem practical or economical to ship a small quantity of beer in a tanker ship.

Two part article on the history of bulk shipping alcoholic beverages.

As noted in Part 1, Guinness has long shipped in bulk and in recent years the importer B. United has been doing it and blending and/or canning the beer in the US. When AB was bringing in Wurzburger in bulk (circa 1980) and bottling it in Newark, their advertising took some artistic license.

Didn’t they collab on a different beer recently or is this a re-release of the same beer?

They did Vibrant P’Ocean together a few years back. It was the worst Rodenbach I’d ever had, but not bad overall. Sort of a sessionable Gose-esque lawnmower beer.

I’ll definitely try this new one if I see it.

I am relieved that this was artfully blended and not just blended.

I think that was one of those auto-correct errors via an audio-to-text program used to write the Press Release. Isn't Art Foley the brewer/cellarman at DFH in charge of the blending? Think they hired him from Molson Coors, where he worked on Blue Moon.

This beer sounds delicious. I'll buy it if I see it, although there is little chance of my favorite stores seeing it.

Got this email from Dogfish. Hoping it will be reasonably priced.

We’ve teamed up with RODENBACH (again!) for an all-new cross-Atlantic collaboration

With more than 225 years of collective brewing experience, we’ve joined forces with Brouwerji Rodenbach to release Crimson Cru - a 7.1% ABV blended red ale. Deep copper in color, Crimson Cru begins with Rodenbach’s world-renowned Grand Cru, a Flemish red-brown ale aged in oak casks, that made the overseas trek from Belgium to Delaware via tanker ship.

After its cross-Atlantic journey, Rodenbach’s Grand Cru is artfully blended with an off-centered red ale that is infused with sumac and sweet orange peel and dry-hopped with Hallertau Blanc hops. The resulting beer is full-bodied and slightly warming with aromas of candied citrus, cherry, caramel and toffee, complemented by malty flavors of stewed fruits, plum, cherry, dried citrus and toffee.

Crimson Cru is set to start hitting taps & shelves over the coming weeks, so keep an eye on the Fish Finder to help you track it down in your neck of the woods!

This sounds terrific. I'd buy it in a second, but at least per the "Fish Finder" it's nowhere to be found in my area. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Just an FYI: Drinking it right now and it is not tart in the least bit. I don't know if I'm wrong for thinking it would be since there's supposed to be some Rodenbach Grand Cru in there, but I thought I'd let y'all know. It honestly just reminds me of a less vibrant Red & White.

There's a chance we could get this here. There's also a chance we could see pigs fly.

My local Craft Brew Cellar has been consistently getting this in stock. I'd be up for a trade $4$ of something of your local that I cannot get in VA. I'm enjoying it!

If you want to check out a quick bit of marketing for the beer:

Both the GF and I grabbed six packs separately due to lack of coordination, so I hope I like it more than Vibrant P'Ocean.
