If someone takes it I hope it's an expansion/move-up space, rather than an additional location. I just worry about additional locations being sustainable for anyone other than really well capitalized breweries, that space can't be cheap to rent and maintain (just that crappy pool itself must have pricey additional insurance requirements).

For sure it’s a great location and space … just saying that I don’t think most breweries can afford it.

Move over Sammy Smith, with your Yorkshire squares. There's a new game in town

I went by there this weekend and the taps are up. Incredible taplist (I had a Saison Bernice and an Imperial Coffee and Cigarettes). It's well worth a visit.

Wow. Congratulations to 10 Mile. I don’t do 10 mile. I did try there offerings twice after they opened in Signal Hill and Steelcraft. They didn’t do anything for me. I’m sure the locals love them. Good for 10 mile.

Finally got to have a beer at the newly minted taproom at Windsor Costa Mesa tonight.

It was unfortunately not the one I had planned to get when I saw the taplist a few days prior, as it kicked before I got there (HPB Good Green; I ended up ordering Cellarmaker Cosmic Noon).

The taplist is still superb, exactly what I'd expect.

The inside scoop from Alex was they have one more tap (16 vs 15 if memory serves) than the Anaheim location and the kegs are pretty much all sixtels except for Urban Roots 10° (since they go through a whackload of it, it was a 1/2-ish barrel), the Hypermash Hydra which is smaller and one other I don't remember.

Busy on a Thursday which is not unexpected if you visit some of their neighbors in the evening.

Bonus was walking in to see someone in the industry I know and have a chat.

If you're in the area to visit Green Cheek/Gunwhale, I would highly recommend popping in to shop the to-go section and then sit for a while to have a glass. You won't be disappointed.

Windsor is the best bottle shop in OC. Now, on top of that, both places have tap handles and the options are superb. I live in South County but still make the drive to both shops because it’s well worth it.

Wholeheartedly agree. If the beer I'm buying is not DTC, it's probably from Windsor.

Let’s not leave out Windsor Brown in Anaheim. Also a superb tap list. Now if Scott can find a 4th spot in Sunset Beach/HB area?

So one of my buds just sent me a photo of Umami Burger joint next to Monk Anaheim closed. I wonder if Henry will take over that spot and expand his Anaheim location. Maybe add a food menu and new canning line?

Do you think Monkish is doing that well? I haven't been to the new spot but seems their cans are easily available these days and the hype that they once enjoyed has settled a bit. From what i know about Henry, he seems like a super cautious business man a la Vinnie at RR.

I think he wanted to or was going to expand his Torrance spot for food. The building in the back. But that never happened. It’s not that I think Monks is doing well but the opportunity is there. The Monk hype is pretty much non existent these days but they are still selling out of their cans. I don’t do Monk cans much these days. Definitely not every release. I got GCSB less than 2 miles from my house. RiiP is in both directions and soon to open BW Beer & Pizza joint less than a mile. If I need Monk cans I’ll swing by the Torrance location on the way home from LAX. I prefer GC over Monks these days. It would still be nice to see their Anaheim location have food menu.
Ten Mile announce a 3rd location a week or so ago. Ten Mile? Come on man. If Ten Mile can add a 3rd location why not Monk expand in Anaheim. I haven’t been to Ten Mile but once.

Beachwood Beer & Pizzaria is set to open early December. Fencing is down and a permanent outdoor patio is added. Though small. Unlike RiiP Pizza/Beer joint and Green Cheeks Sunset Beach location, word is they gutted and added on to the one time Italian restaurant. Looking forward to Gabes next adventure.

Stopped by the new B-Wood Pizzeria and took a quick peek through the windows. Inside looks really nice, patio is small but nice. Can't wait !!

Hi all! I'll be coming to town in two weeks and have a Wednesday afternoon to explore a brewery or two between LA and Huntington Beach. I've been to Monkish and FW Propagator in the past. Those are certainly options, but I'd be curious to hear thoughts on where you would spend one afternoon/evening given the opportunity. Beachwood? Highland Park? Green Cheek/Gunwhale/Windsor Costa Mesa?

Any dinner/beer pub recommendations in the same location as a brewery are also helpful.

Thanks in advance for any/all suggestions and feedback. Cheers!!!

Cannot go wrong with Beachwood Long Beach, Green Cheek Sunset Beach and riip Huntington Beach. You could go the extra 20 mins or so to Green Cheek Costa Mesa and hit Windsor, but totally not necessary.

Green Cheek serves pretty good food as well.

Beachwood Long Beach is definitely a great choice. But you might be in luck, Beachwood Pizza & Beer in Huntington Beach may just be open by the time you arrive. They said they are expecting to be open first week or so in December. Yes it will be a different menu than the LB location, but it’s pizza. And beer. And you have Green Cheek SB, RiiP & Beachwood Pizza all in 2.5miles. And RiiP’s Beer & Pizza is another 6miles from BW Pizza in HB. Mr Kegs is not far from BW Pizza for some to go offerings. I prefer Windsor in Costa Mesa but you can’t go wrong with Mr Kegs.
