Just randomly grabbed Mayflowers Thanksgiving Ale at my local Co-op. Nice hybrid of America Strong Ale and English Old ale. I mean, it's traditional!

My tradition is to enjoy a vintage Abyss. I have one left, a 2016, so thats what will be on tap.

No room in the refrigerator for growlers. No exotics here: Montauk Driftwood Ale, O'Hara's Irish Stout, Perlenbacher Pilsener, Founder's Porter, Harpoon IPA. Our guests might bring some surprises, though.

Just me and some wine drinkers. Perhaps an opportunity to be an advocate and break out some Robert saison?

    All Bavarian lineup for me:

    • Ayinger Jahrhundert
    • Augustiner Edelstoff
    • Weihenstephaner Helles
I'd go heavier but I've got a Sippin' Santa excursion at the local tiki bar Friday night so I need to not kill myself.

Off to a good start- work finished up a few hours early so a bunch of us hit a local bar, which had Brooklyn Black Chocolate Stout on draft. First time having that one and holy smokes was it good. BA lists it as 10%abv but it certainly hides that well.

[IMG] This is my tentative Thanksgiving Day lineup. L-R: Zero Gravity, “Black Cat Porter “, Burial , “Dark “ Bohemian Lager and Wilmington Brew Works, “Umlaut “ Marzen. I’m keeping it on the tame side because I have to work both Friday and Saturday!

The folks at our get together are mostly light beer drinkers but do like Oktoberfest beers and some German beers. Our beer line up includes:

    Straub Light
    Labatt's Blue Light
    Hofbrau Oktoberfestbier - a 5-liter minikeg
    Spaten Oktoberfest Ur-Marzen
    Ayinger Oktoberfest-Marzen
    Augustinerbrau-Munchen Edelstoff
    Troeg's Oktoberfest
    Sam Adams Octoberfest
Sam Adams Pumpkin Ale (not sure if I got this name correct)

We also have some premixed spiked eggnog on hand. And some Wild Turkey 101 (for Turkey Day, of course!)

Not sure what I will drink later in the evening. Maye some Dogfishead Punkin Ale.
Although Wild Turkey or better yet Rare Breed might be an option then. Or A Midwinter Night's Dram.

I would line up to get on the guest list for this. O'Hara's and Founder's Porter would be a great way to top off the day.

Not much of a turkey fan, so it's an enormous cut of dry aged prime rib for Thanksgiving.
Perfectly paired with Founder's Porter. [IMG]

Thanksgiving not so much, will pull out a few nice belgians/saisons and pretty much take it easy. Friday will be a shit show, Magnum of Atrial Rubicite, and whatever else my kids pull out of my beer fridge/shelf.

Yes I had a Dorothy with Easter Ham dinner a few years ago and it was perfect pairing. Actually I mistaken, it’s an HF Arthur I had stashed in my cellar that I’m chilling now for Thanksgiving today. Like splitting hairs in quality though, I can’t complain.

12% vanilla/rye barrel aged stout, 14% Samicchlaus clone (lager), Sierra Nevada Celebration clone. And way to many barleywines in bottles.
