I wouldn't buy, but would definitely accept PBR, Rolling Rock, Busch heavy, or Coors. Never anything bud or miller though. Gotta have a line somewhere.

Hot afternoons, maybe - about the only time an AAL is just the thing. OR when I'm fishing, for nostalgia reasons. Almost rather wait til the sun goes down a little, or find some shade, to enjoy something with a little more in the way of flavor.

I really liked Schlitz Gusto. For an adjunct lager its pretty tasty. I've been "craving" to drink that again for a while now but its a tough find.

    I sometimes crave Molson XXX.

I think that being 21 you don't have enough years under your belt drinking the BMC's and experiencing the progression to a craft pallet.

Sure when I was younger I didn't mind a Coors light at a ball game, but today, I would choose an IPA every time. I haven't had the slightest desire or urge for an adjunct lager since I was 25

I wouldn't even say what I got stuck drinking the other night--only drinking it more as an experiment rather than the need/desire to have anything anyway--and but it was more horrible than I'd remembered it to be. Astonishingly bad. I couldn't wait to hit the fridge at home. So for me, that would be a no.

This is my feeling exactly. I just won't drink it. If BMC etc is all that is available at a restaurant then I will gladly have a Coke or water please. Same at a friends house, etc etc. I never drink the stuff. Not interested. Tastes kinda like pee.

IMO, its a beer to drink when broke or nothing else is available. Crave? hah!

My macro cheapies are Genesee Cream Ale, PBR, Lil Kings or Carling Black Label. Yuengling is great for a step up from those I think their stuff even the styles they have are great for the price point & IMO kick the shit outta Leinenkugel's weak OVERPRICED & underwhelming offerings. :astonished:

This is actually quite fascinating history. But I hadn't thought much about adjuncts until couple days ago I had a new Light Lager at the Mission Brewery tasting room in San Diego. Brewed with rice, they said proudly. And it was great. There can be a good reason to use "adjuncts" (well, maybe not corn grits) to produce a low-alcohol beer with an appealing grainy taste. But for no taste, no thanks.

I've said before that i have soft spot for PBR. It's cheap and tastes better than bud or bud light. Plus it pairs perfectly with pizza and a metal show

On a hot summer day here in AZ a PBR,Modelo Especial,Dos Equis, or Shift are pretty good.

If I had ready access to Sierra Nevada Old Chico Wheat that would be my go to..

Only when bowling. Im learning a crisp Coors Light is okay, but mostly PBR on tap when bowling. 'Merican Way.

    Cheers!

Yeah, I've had a lot of Pabst (and Schlitz) at shows. A Pabst is good when seeing a band in a crowded room because when half of it ends up on the floor, as it always seems to, who cares?

While I don't necessarily have the cravings, I will agree that a PBR does taste good after drinking a Bud Light. I remember a tailgate where I came across a PBR right as I was calling it quits (the Bud just wasn't going down well), and I really enjoyed it. It doesn't have the same or as many off-flavors, and maybe even a little more hop character?

Since when do fields/stadiums/parks have IPAs? And if they do, for less than $15?

At the Amway Center here in Orlando during Magic games I believe you can get an IPA (forget the brewer) for $9. Still a lot.... but IMO worth the premium VS a $7.50 Miller Lite. Fairly large serving, too, I believe 20oz or more.

I like to think of adjuncts as fast food. Sometimes I want a really nice meal, but sometimes I just want to grab a Big Mac.

The only time I crave Macros is when I go camping but that probably has more to do with teenage memories of those being the only thing there to drink. An ice cold Coors is immensely satisfying sitting around all day at the campsite playing horseshoes relaxing.
