After talking about it some and finally finding the time to finalize with a venue I'm happy to invite you all to a bottle share, DFW Bottle Share - Craft & Growler Dallas. Kevin at Craft & Growler made this very easy and he's looking forward to hosting us. I'd love to do more of these at C&G in the future, so lets make sure we don't screw the pooch on our 1st visit.

I "created the event" in an airport on my phone so if things you feel are important were missed do not hesitate to recommend either on this forum or in a beermail to me. One thing I know I missed is they do not serve food so please eat before.

Please see the previous thread DFW Beer Advocate Map (For Tastings, Etc) for carpooling, setting up smaller "local" tastings before or after, etc.

After clicking on the event link above and saying that you are attending, please list what bottles you plan on bringing so we don't get to many duplicates.

I'll start this thing off by saying I'm bringing one of my babies a 2009 Dark Lord Imperial Stout. That might not be much to some but hopefully this will bring some people who otherwise may have not attended.

    Cheers & Beers,
    -Matt

This is great, and a perfect venue...perhaps the start of a beautiful friendship...thanks so much for spearheading this! Maybe by then, my brother and soon-to-be proud Papa yelof77 will get a hall pass and be able to make it!

Let Funk and Sour duty commence. Starting off with an Hill Farmstead Anna and a Cisco Kriek. Will be adding as the days progress.

Thanks Matt for kicking this off and throwing down a big boy. Never tried the Dark Lord but an '09 is perhaps a great place to start.

Do you know how many beer nerds just did a beer search for Cowthy? Glad you're able to make it.

I actually had you in mind when I made this Sunday. Saturdays were a no go at the three places I talked to... Isn't Halls closed Sundays?

I'm in. I will have to look through the ol' cellar to see what's ready for sharing. Maybe 2006 aventinus.

    Cheers,

Just because it isn't publicized on BA doesn't mean it's not happening...

    Triple negative! Score!

That was my point its good to see a public tasting like this from Matt in this forum, nothing else. To your point were having one here in Dallas on the 27th that's not publicized, cant wait.

Exactly! Beer people are good people, and it's great to get together and try great beers - officially "sanctioned" or not!

    Cheers!

Josh, I always heard that DFW is too spread out to have a large group monthly tasting. Everyone that told me this was probably right. We just don't have a great centralized location like Austin and Houston seem to have. I think there's a nice sized group of us who envy what Houston and Austin have with their monthly shares. I think we can do a large group bottle share here in DFW every 3 months and that's a goal of mine to at least start off with.

I hope this one tasting can spur off more smaller group tastings that are localized. I have one a month at my house for the past 4 or 5 months. I thought there were only 3 BA's in my area other than myself... I was wrong. If my house was bigger I'd host the group of 12 to 15 that live on the east side of town. Though I think my house is about to be thrown by the waysde now that I know Craft & Growler will be an option.

Get to know your "local" BA's folks, minimalize that drive time!

Something tells me the turnout will surprise you in a good way. I posted a generic Austin tasting once and the guys from ABW saw it and let us have a tasting at their brewery. The most unforgettable tasting ever. I may still be in town for this, if so would love to join yall.
