Cross post with the Imperial Stout Appreciation Thread. This is one of my favorite annual releases, and this particular can has held on great refrigerated over 2 years.

Two songs played during yesterday's tribute to Lin Brehmer. @mschrei enjoyed the entire 8 hours, and I loved the two and a half hours I listened in. Lin was a Chicago treasure.

 

Yep, have read that story about the Essex, and other whaling tales....pretty incredible stuff!
If you like these sorts of books, you would enjoy reading most anything from a dude named Tristan Jones ("Ice" and "The Incredible Voyage" come to mind) as well as anything by Eric Shipton - he was known mostly for his mountaineering exploits, but did some pretty amazing sea voyages in arctic waters as well!

Court is out for the day…trying another new to me brewery, Dog Rose Brewing, and drinking “Lazy Lightning IPA” an all Citra American style IPA:



Looks amazing, but taste is dull skunky citrus hops. Overall, disappointing. Cheers from St. Augustine, FL!

 

Just enjoyed a Warsteiner Fest Bier, not quite as good as the Hofbrauhaus but still good.

Man, I totally agree on the 12 ounces. I've yet to see that beer in 12 oz format around here - in fact, today it was 4 packs of 19 oz. I would much prefer a 12 ounce can. Great beer though!

 

Modist Supra Deluxe (5.0%): A Japanese/Rice Lager from Minnesota hopped with Japanese Soriachi Ace for flavors of rice, flowers, and sake.

My first Japanese/Rice Lager. This one is supposedly overly-hopped, but that's what you can expect from an American version. The hops provide a nice floral balance to the rice malt. This was very enjoyable particularly from the hops. Sometimes the hoppy American versions of beers I enjoy better than the traditional style.

G'day all!

Another beer from Beer Drop, canned December 9th.

Delicious! The only negatives are the lack of foam(more like just fizz) and imho, it's over carbonated.

I've been cutting out weekday beers pretty well recently, today is a fail...probly twice lol. Also, the pom is demanding her supper as is her custom. Cheers to yinz!
