#2, this is 5+ years old and truly magnificent. I only wish I had purchased a case of it all those years ago.

Last one, this is from 2018. I was worried this was TOO adventurous with all the divergent aromas/flavors, but it actually works really well.

Unless you don’t like clove and ginger - avoid at all costs if you don’t like those aromas/flavors.

Fortunately I do, so sign me up for more - and check out the Transient bomber format. That’s like finding an orangutan in the wild.

It is a shame how Smuttynose melted down.

 

Hop Butcher Viaduct DIPA (Mosaic, Simcoe, Peacharine). Cannabis dank, ruby red grapefruit flesh and pith, passionfruit, ripe yellow peach, lemon zest, tangerine, pine resin, slight New Zealand characteristic hop funk. Might just be my palate, but this can comes off more bitter and dry than the previous ones, which I was hoping for all along. If all of Hop Butcher's hazies were like this can, I'd start to seek them out more like I did back in the day.

 

They seem to have come out of it okay, but like a lot of other breweries they appear to be chasing trends with their beer lineup. They don't have a lot that interest me other than Finestkind, Robust Porter and Brown Dog - but that's just me.

IQ IPA from Akademia Brewing in Athens GA, really didn't expect floaties in a 5 week old beer but the taste is spot on......taco salad prep is fully underway......

However, today is DMen Tap’s 6th Anniversary, so glad I made it. Been drinking here the past five years in my Beer Ground Zero (Between Revolution Brewery and The Beer Temple). They’re real anniversary is Jan 4th, but they are celebrating today.



First time I’ve seen Schlitz in draft in ages.

The brand is alive, but all of the original company is likely gone. We worked on promises and handshakes. Beer is now way different than 20+ years ago. It is more like the wine world and run from elsewhere. It was once great and exciting fun finding and building brands. It is now different. and less collegial.
