Might as well drink the matching one! No Mosaic, only Citra and Simcoe.

Today marks 22 years since the release of my all-time favorite album, Blackwater Park by Opeth. Gotta put it on!

    1) Titletown Johnny Blood Red (5.2%): An Irish Ale from Wisconsin with flavors of toasted bread, amber malts. Grainy, mildly sweet.
    versus
    2) Saugatuck Maggie’s Irish Ale (5.4%): An Irish Ale from Wisconsin with flavors of cherry, berry, citrus tea and floral flavors.
    versus
    3) Great Lakes Conway’s Irish Ale (6.3%): An Irish Ale from Ohio with flavors of caramel, molasses, toffee. Somewhat darker and sweeter. (All three mismatched blind)

    Rankings:
    1) Great Lakes Conways' Irish Ale:
Leans darker and sweeter more along the lines of a Copper or even brown ale. Not bad though with a nice honeyflower flavor as well.
    2) Saugatuck Maggie's Irish Ale: Pretty good here with some fruity cherry, berry, citrus flavors. A nice hoppiness is present.
    3) Titletown Johnny Blood Red: Decent. Very similar to a Marzen.

Hard to imagine Great Lakes really doing anything poorly. Great Lakes wins by a hair. All three were pretty decent and it's not my favorite style of beer but nice for the season

In the DFW airport waiting on a flight to Boise, this is Billy Jenkins Bock from Wild Acre Brewing Company, a beautiful, very tasty bock.

Wednesday, Smithwicks, or should I say Smihdicks, goes on sale for $7.99 a 6 pack near me, so that will be my Irish ale of choice this weekend. Thanks for the run down on those 3 though. I've had Great Lakes Conways', and yes, Great Lakes makes consistently good beer.

Fair State Eleven Degrees Czech Dark Lager, 4.4% ABV. Pours black with a one-finger beige head that left light lacing. Nose is sweet malt and bready grain. Taste follows, lightly sweet, moderately bitter roast malt and hops. Decent mouthfeel, overall excellent.

    4.08/5 rDev -2.6%
    look: 4.25 | smell: 4.25 | taste: 4 | feel: 4 | overall: 4

I'm working towards my all-style goal for the third time, since they keep adding styles. I bagged Grisette yesterday, and this czecks off Czech Dark Lager, so I only have Czech Amber Lager left. That one could be challenging, but I hope to find one before they add more styles again.
