    Hey guys

Making the trip out to Vancouver on May 6th and then to Langley for May 7th for the new soccer club opener. Obviously going to hit up Superflux, but just wanted some opinions on their best 3 to hit up in the city/way to Langley as I will have limited time.

Obviously, those breweries that aren't far from the SkyTrain lines or Superflux would be best, but wanted to just get some opinions from fellow BAs.

I won't try and guide you around Vancouver, but you should stop at The Barley Merchant in Langley, good food and lots of taps all with local ales. I'd recommend them over any of the Langley breweries.

Dageraad in Burnaby would be my choice. Haven't been there in person yet (not from Vancouver) but Im a fan of their beers. Especially some of their "New Slang" IPAs. They're probably a little out of the way for you.

Slow Hand Beer Company is a couple blocks away from Superflux and has some pretty good beer.

Strathcona Brewing is in walking distance to Superflux- lots of great IPAs there. Luppolo is also within walking distance. For a couple of more Vancouver specific breweries, I recommend Brassneck and Strange Fellows. The Alibi Room is also close, not a brewery but a craft beer mainstay in Vancouver with a huge local tap list.

If you have time, a bunch of great breweries are in Port Moody (walkable from the skytrain): Twin Sails, Yellow Dog, Moody Ales, and more, all in a row.

Unsure if you will be driving to Langley? If so, you can go the longer-way there and hit Foamers Folly in Pitt Meadows. I haven't lived in Vancouver for a few years, so not sure if any good breweries have opened in Langley, but nothing great from what I remember.

That will work out, as it's not that far from my Hotel on the second day, although do they have cans for sale?

Do you mean for takeaway or in addition to their taps? They wouldn't have any for takeaway, I don't remember if they had any at all. But I can point you to the best store in your area for can sales if you like. Jericho Liquor on 200 street and 72 avenue.

I'm not the biggest IPA fan, but I will be bringing some home, but looking at their offerings I think Luppolo will be added to the list. I don't think I'll have time for Port Moody sadly.

Luppolo for sure, they're having a lager fest this weekend so should have plenty left on tap the next weekend. It's maybe 10 mins from Flux

Luppolo was great, just wish I could have got their double Pilsner in a can to come home. Awesome pizza, awesome beer. Stopped by Superlfux, it wasn't my vibe but had a solid coffee stout there and plenty plenty of stuff to take home. Also managed to snag some Driftwood and a few other cans and a bottle for home.

will also be in vancouver next month for a long weekend. Best breweries/brewpubs close enough to downtown. (big ipa and stout guy)

Don't think you're gonna find many stouts here in June, unless you get lucky and there is a Temporal release that weekend, however you'll be able to buy bottles at a few shops.

Boombox production has been pretty infrequent of late. Superflux yup. Brassneck is always worth a stop. The Magnet Bar for sure stop in. Darby's and Bells & Whistles are good options, not downtown but not far. Strange Fellows, Luppolo all close by and would have some variety. Vancouver is pretty small really you can get to any brewery here in less than 20 minutes for Vancouver proper. North Van has a pretty good lineup of breweries now if you don't mind taking the seabus from waterfront station downtown.

Strathcona brewing is super close to Superflux and has solid IPAs. I like Andina too, which would be on the way to Parallel 49 walking from Superflux.
Brassneck is a bit out of the downtown core but I think has interesting beer.

Vancouver doesn't really have a downtown core, and even if it does, no breweries exist there. Brassneck is probably the closest brewery you can get to from 'downtown' especially given it's proximity to Main St skytrain station. This city is small.

appreciate it. looks like everything is close enough. If I have time for 3 stops (as long as there are within 20 or so minutes) leaning Superflux, Alibi and one more, what should be stop 3?

Hit up Magnet, it's actually run by the former owners of Alibi. And it's the only place mentioned in this thread that's actually downtown

Heading to Vancouver in July, first time visiting. Reading through this thread and checking out the websites, and mapping distance from our rental near Andy Livingstone Park, I think my top stops look like Alibi Room, Superfulx, Strathcona and Luppolo.

But it's been a year (exactly, haha) since anyone posted in this thread. Are those places still good? Any new ones to add?
