    Great Lakes Blackout Stout

    Printed on the bottle "for freshest taste, please enjoy by: 08/03/09"
    This is one of the last couple of beers left from the lot of Imperial stouts I bought back in late 2008 when I first turned 21 and discovered imperial stouts. I put a way quite a few Blackouts, Expeditions, and Yeti's that year along with some of the first barley wine's I tried which were Horn Dog and Bigfoot. I have been drinking them slowly since and for the most part have concluded I like imperial stouts better fresh or within a year. That said this is my favorite of the three with some age on it. In fact I love this beer both fresh and with age.

    polished off a bottle of cantillon 100% bio and Stillwater love and regret... both were pretty solid, the latter an unexpectedly herb-forward dark Saison... although I should come to expect these things from stillwater.

    Agreed! I hope the Tigers are on tomorrow night. I was at the Bragging Rights game Saturday night. Tomorrow in LA will be a challenge.
