At first I read that as meditation.

Ha, I was going to say the same thing! Whatever it is, wrap it up, I'm sure you're thirsty.

I actually had a chance to join in as I saw a six pack of California Lager but passed on it. Everything else around here has been wiped out. Maybe I will be lucky and stumble upon a Steam stovepipe. That would be nice and a fitting good bye.

The Garfield's and Jewel's showed Anchor beer available online, but none at the stores when I went to each this morning. As bad as Binny's.

Plan Bee weather permitting is to hit the Maproom (Liberty Ale, Old Foghorn, Porter and or Steam), perhaps twice with their great selection this weekend.

    Cheers!

Getting started today with a Steam Beer. Tasting great even at 6 months. Have to admit that I’ve been sampling my Steam Beer and Liberty Ale all week.

    Cheers

What's your walk time from home to the Maproom?

Beware the weather -- the heat and humidity are getting oppressive!

I'll likely hit Metra which a stops a short walk away, also want to hit Lakeview if I head out. Got five miles in on my futile Anchor search, enough for the day.

Let's get this Anchor party started, eh? It's Friday afternoon, and too hot and humid to do much outside, so....let's crack a Steam!

Only things I have are a case and a half of Steam (recently ordered from bottle shop once the news was out about the closing etc), this big ass 2011 OSA Magnum, and a vertical of OSA going back to 2007 through 2022....

such an iconic beer and brewery....have a tin tacker, loads of Anchor glassware, titanium opener, tshirts, hat and sunglasses.....I guess you could say I have been a big fan for many decades! As a sailor myself, the name Anchor is appealing for obvious reasons, and the beer has been amazing....long live Anchor!

I grabbed a sixer of Porter (halfway done with it, delicous!), two 2021 OSA's (had one last night, doesn't pair well with the heat, haha), and two 7 month old Liberty Ales (cracked one already, still not bad and hoppy!).

I'll add some photos from the weekend.

I also grabbed a single of the Tropical Hazy IPA (I think it was also about 7 months old), damn good! Thanks for the tip @steveh !

From Sunday (after San Francisco Marathon). One pour is Porter, the other is Christmas Ale. Also picked up a sixer of Liberty Ale and Old Foghorn to go along with the sixer of Steam in my fridge.

Okay, I wrote a whole review, but I think I'll just post my Overall:
The Steam still retains the rich (unusual) characters I remember from my first introduction around 1985 -- characters unlike any other popular beer on shelves at the time. I'd drink a few just for nostalgia's sake, but I also recognize the body and somewhat sweetish flavors could weigh heavy on my palate. A beer for reminiscing, if not necessarily for partying. I'll definitely miss it.

I just bought a 6pack of Anchor Porter cans online. Too late for this event but I do want to say goodbye in a personal way.

It's beginning to look like Captain Ahab and Queequeg out scouting for some crazy ass white "whale". Anchor has needed this level of interest for many years. It is sad......But not nearly as sad as the young buck this morning with his left rear leg caught in a chain link fence. He had broken his leg and torn off his hoof. A decent police officer put him out of his misery. Martha is beside herself. She was comforting him until he pulled free very badly injured....

One of our local beer bars tapped their last keg of anchor steam today. Hopefully I can get over there before the keg blows. My guess is that it will not last long.

    Raul’s review:

    3.67/5

Bottle says: 3L9. So if Raul can compute his shiz, this thang is about 6 months old. Although Raul digresses, he can move on.

Light like my baby mama in a corset, and a bit sweet like my baby mama's mama when she cooks Raul cookies for Columbus Day.

Make Raul want to set sail in search of new lands? Anchor does not. But take a lil hottie down to my docked Santa Maria and tip a few back? Yes, yes Raul would.

    Peace!

Don't know where Raul is buying his beer, but my Anchor beers have an easy-to-read packaging date (bottled May of this year).

I'm pretty sure they started marking labels like this a few years ago.
