    ...Mrs. BeerGoot has done another living room furniture rearrangement (I don't understand this, but so it goes), so now I need a different beer pic background...the old tried-and-true fireplace mantel works...

    look: 3.75 | smell: 3.75 | taste: 3.75 | feel: 3.75 | overall: 3.75

    The pour looks pale straw color, very clear; lightly hazy, golden amber body in the glass; fat, slow rising carbonation bubbles; thick, white head, frothy, long lasting. Very pleasant aroma; light fruity esters with a subtle floral note; light malt sweetness. Nice taste; mild cereal grain base with a bit of grassy, herbal edges; light to moderatet hop bitterness. Medium body; crisp; a touch of malt sweetness coupled with an a delicate all-around dryness.

    A nice, easy drinking beer.

    Very psyched to find this fresh over the weekend. It uses to be ubiquitous around here, but not so much anymore. However, I've seen Boont Amber on tap recently, so perhaps we're on the cusp of an amber revival? Stranger things have happened. Or have they?

    That beer name brought back some memories. Mainly the Brougham trim. My first car in 1976 was a 1972 Mercury Montego Brougham 4-door Hardtop. (Below is not an actual photo of my car, but this was it.) My dad bought everyone of us 6 kids a car (used, of course) when we turned 16 and got our license. A little spoiled we were.

    When I was young, there were some days at our house, where you'd wake up in the morning, go to school, then get home, and your bedroom was switched to another room altogether. Mom was a notorious room reorganizer.

    Pours a clear, sharp, dark brown color; thick, off-white head, long lasting. Fair nose; subdued dark malt character. Very nice flavor; dark roasted grain notes with a low-key sweetness; light to medium sense of bitterness from grain char and hops; very delicate sweetness hidden well in the background. Medium-light body; fairly smooth on the palate.

    Nice, unassuming schwarzbier, well-rounded and tasty with a low ABV.

    Transient did this beer really well, IMHO - nice spicy noble hop flavors accentuated by the Edelweiss malt. Absolutely love it.
