Full review in the New Beer Weekend #164 thread, but this hit all my Porter preferences to the bone, and if it's re-released down the road I recommend to all seeking a solid Porter.

Speaking of solid, the WXRT Saturday Morning 1983 Flashback just finished, actually awake and enjoying the second half. Starting with my favorite video and sadly still relevant with endless American wars, followed by a Bryan Ferry & Roxy Music honouring John Lennon's tune both played during final hour. @mschrei

Iv had to many well done Oktoberfest beers this year it's hard to pick favorites. You'd have thought this bottle came out of Germany. Very nice.

Happy Saturday, BA friends. My Saturday yard work and errands complete, I’m wetting my beak at Autodidact with a pint of its version of Brew Jersey: Sign the Bill, Phil (referring to our disingenuous governor’s refusal to sign the bill lifting onerous restrictions on craft brewers - which he earlier claimed to support). The ale itself is great - lemon peel, rye, and subtle coconut from the Sabro hops. Cheers from regressive New Jersey!

 

In other Porter news, Founders releases Vanilla Porter next month. Looking forward to that variant of a very good base beer. Cheers.

 

Pollyanna's 9th anniversary weekend and they are boldly releasing four variants of different beers everyday.
They brew an anniversary lager every year and this year's is an Italian Pilsner, Champagne being today's variant at the top right.


Their big BA Stout, Personal Chain Letter is aged in Whiskey Acres Blue Popcorn Bourbon and Rye Whiskey barrels this year, and today's variant is Oatmeal Cookie (#4).
They introduced a new beer last year, Sinister Soul, an imperial stout I believe they have only released after aging in Whiskey Acres barrels, and today's variant (#3 on the display) is Pumpkin Spice.
Occular is an imperial IPA (8.9%) and today's variant (#2 here) is Gran Marnier.

And the base Personal Chain Letter without adjuncts is on the top left. Beautiful integration of Whiskey Acres Blue Popcorn Bourbon and Rye Whiskey barrels.

Oktoberfest 6.6% - Saint Arnold

 

Picking up beer for my wife's charity dog fair but got to have some while we're here. She's drinking workhorse Pilsner. I'm drinking a West Coast IPA that is done well.

 

Lots of project work today- Will definitely need some thirst-quenchers!
