Huh, do they call it an English Mild Brown Ale?

I’ve seen pale and dark milds, but not brown. Interesting.

They call it a "dark mild" and a "brown ale." On the topic of color, keep in mind the range you can have in either.

That and a boutique distributor. I bet it would be more reasonable if someone else distributed Trumer here.

So in this context is a session ale limited to APA/IPA or simply anything under 5% ABV?

Cause if it's the latter, boy do I have the motherlode

Left Hand Brewery's Sawtooth ale at 5.3 % ABV is always one I seek for a session ale.

In England one can find Session beers such as Harvey's Mild at 3.0% ABV. It has a lot of flavor.

I remember having a bottle (hard to find) of Fuller's Chiswick bitter (3.5% abv) in London years ago. I found it amazingly full bodied and satisfying, preferring it to London Pride. I see, sadly, that this beer has been discontinued--since Fuller's was sold?

I think Chiswick has been in decline for a long time. I assume that Chiswick is either gone at this point, or it's so rare that it's practically gone. I can't say.

I would indeed add any beer to this context as long as the word SESSION is in its name or is in print on the can/bottle. If the brewer calls it a Session Beer then so it is. Cheers!

Okay, good to know. I appreciate the clarification. Otherwise I'd be here daily with a local beer. I'll certainly be back soon!

I made myself laff thinking: "Could a 6.5% IPA just become an Imperial Session IPA?" :joy::stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye::nerd: No. No it can't. Where's the nearest exit door?!

Had this one last night and I'm still craving another.

Salt Flats - Life Elevated (session) IPA

    Cross posted from yesterday's wbaydn

    Canned 10.26.23- whoo hoo!

Poured at fridge temp into a fake Pretentious glass

Pours a dark reddish gold/orange with an off white head. 3.75

Delightful juicy tangerine, tropical rind hoppiness and spice, sweet orange, pungent and punchy. 4

Strong juiciness, flavor follows aroma, hoppy rind/peel, orange and tangerine. 4

Ultra crushable, soft near creaminess levels of juicy/punchy and light prickling carbo. 4

Overall this new session from Salt Flats truly wowed me, I'm hoping a follow up tasting soon holds true. 4

Listed as a session IPA when I pulled it up on UT, but otherwise not noted on the can *shrug*

Though not marketed as session beer, I've always loved Old Speckled Hen. And Notch has many sessionable lagers.

I like OSH as well. Is it considered a Mild?...oh, it's simply a Pale Ale. 'Tis a sessionalble brew for sure! Had it a few times and by gosh I've not rated or reviewed it. Thanks for the post brother. Cheers!
