Grolsch is a bit a cult beer here over here, partly because of the brace system on the bottles, being popular in regions, and it been seen as a more rural beer opposing Amsterdams Heineken. Is was part of SAB Miller before the AB INbev take over but had to be sold by non-monopoly rules of EU. They are now operating sort of independently again as being part of the Japanese Asahi Group.

Was a favourite pilsner of my father (when he was my age - when developing cancer he was not drinking much anymore and he is no longer around- and still is of one of my best friends living in Denmark (take that Carlsberg).

But sadly I do not get it. When it comes to Dutch Pilsner I would go for Lindeboom, second Alfa and even prefer the by AB InBev corn degraded Hertog Jan any time. The blue bottled Gulpener Neubourg was really high quality and great tasting as well, not sure if it is still around.

I am afraid I will not like.
Testosteron powered carbonation, poor retention, no lacing, too sweet, skunky malts, penetrant cinnamon smell.
This beer will not come back next year.
