I am in love with this packaging choice.

There are a few WA breweries (Howe Sound, Schooner Exact) using these and I hope more breweries join in. It's returnable, reusable, repurposable, and a much better size to drink through quickly than a 64oz growler. They typically come crown-capped then can be re-closed with the swing top.

    Who else is using these?

No idea, but I like it. I have a 32oz growler from Relic brewing in Connecticut. its a screw cap, really nice, but other places wont fill it for me. Kind of a bummer.

Two Roads Brewing, who just opened in Stratford, CT, offer the flip-top 32oz as the Growlito. I think it's awesome.

Along with every other brewery in FL because the stupid state only allows breweries to fill 32 oz or 128 oz growlers.

Tired Hands in PA just started using them. I'm really into it as well, especially since I rarely want 64oz of a particular beer.

Not every brewery in FL uses swing-tops though, most of the other breweries use the growlers with the screw-on caps.

New England brewing will fill it. Sometimes its nice to get an extra half fill for half price.

I got one from Throwback Brewery in NH. Great size for sure, much beter than the 750 ml ones that HF uses.

I just wish the places that did would charge reasonable prices for them... When I see $10 and up for a 32 that's not like an uber-rare limited release shelfwale yaddah yaddah, I get pretty pissed. Combined with the fact I don't have these sitting around at home like my other growlers, AND that at least one brewery I love charges $5 for the glass alone, I'm looking at well-above bar prices for a single pour of beer in my own home if I want to try something from a new brewery in a small amount.

The intention of the typical $4 - $5 charge is that it is a deposit. You bring back the growler and either refill or exchange. That means you get 32oz of beer for $5 - $6.

    Seems pretty reasonable to me.

The $10+ is the fill price I see for a lot of these. i.e., I'm laying out $10 for a fill and then another $5 for a deposit.

But yes, you do bring up the good point that I can, I guess, just return the growler instead of keeping it for the next time I get a fill.

Ah, I see. I probably wouldn't pay $10 for the fill unless it were an imperial or something special.
