3 Floyds Return of the Ancients Irish Red. Formerly known as Brian Boru. Full of toasted bread and some caramel from the malts, with a hefty American hop presence that's not true to the style at all, but expected given the brewery. Hops bring herbal tea, ruby red grapefruit flesh, grapefruit and orange peel, dried apricot, grass, resinous pine. Not traditional and more of a Red IPA, but I love that style so I'm all for it.

 

Yes sir, and BOGO at Publix this week, so 12 beers for $12 bucks......cheers buddy!!!

 

1) Phase Three DDH Unchecked Imagination (7.8% canned 11/28/23): A NEIPA from Chicago with Moteuka and Citra for flavors of orange citrus, tangerine, faint green and floral notes. Clean and dry
versus
2) Phase Three DDH Trio Of Stars (7.8% canned 12/28/23): A NEIPA from Chicago with Citra, Mosaic, Galaxy for flavors of fresh squeezed orange, pineapple, and tropical fruit. (Correctly matched the tow beers blind)

Winner:
1) Phase Three Unchecked Imagination: Phase Three NEIPA Battle. First is Unchecked Imagination. Have had this many times. Citra plus a nice balance of Moteuka. Some guava and lime notes, otherwise fairly mild.
Next is Trio of Stars, one month newer. Standard Citra, Mosaic, Galaxy. A bit more robust flavors. Nice, but I think I slightly appreciate the Moteuka complexity of Unchecked Imagination. Both are similar and very good.

 

King Grackle Stout from Texas Beer Co. Not bad, but drinks more like a porter.

 

Last Celebration in the fridge ,this IPA holds up so well . Ive been saying this is my last one for 3 weeks now , and always buy a few more singles . So maybe this is my last one for the season?

 

Laux Brau, a BA Russian Imperial Stout from Black & Gray, pretty solid, decent bitterness, I like it!

.....I'd rather have a 12, or 16 ouncer.....

Another good looking HazyLite that is tasty. We’re getting some distro in Florida. I bought this can on Tavour. A solid brewery, imo, that consistently delivers beer I like to drink. Cheers y’all!
