Today is the start of Tampa Bay Beer Week (TBBW). Now at our monthly bottle share drinking “Strange Case” courtesy of @flaba , an imperial stout aged in Apple Jack Brandy barrels with caramel added, Cigar City Brewing, El Catador 17th Edition:



Caramel sweet sweet with a bit of barrel bite. I like! Thanks Don!

Ahh, that taproom. So many fine memories. Had to go to the cellar to find an appropriate toast, aka the only 3 Sheeps beer I have not heading to Ohio and destined for @Blogjackets ’s belly. Label says Craft Brewed in Sheboygan, Wisconsin! From what they were calling their Nimble Lips Noble Tongue Series – 2016 Uber Joe, then dubbed an Imperial Black Wheat Coffee Ale infused with Cocoa Nibs, Coffee, Vanilla, and Maple Wood Staves! Wow this held up much better than I expected, nice cap job, boys! A little oxidation and slight funk, but amazingly still detect some coffee and everything else in there rounded out nicely. So raising my glass to the northeast, cheers, guys!

Truth be told, the two beers I posted earlier weren't particularly good and I didn't finish either. This one's drinking fine as I watch Carolina-NC State in hoops. Cheers!

We tasted 4 barrels filled with a wheat whiskey (95% wheat) and voted on a favorite.
The "winner" will be bottled specifically for participants ( plus muckety-mucks) and the remainder will be blended for sale. A really cool experience.
A good time was had by all.

At the new Foxhole Brewing in Willmar, MN right now. First time here, but I have been to their old location. Not too sure about the vibe, but having their Coffee Stout. Thought it would be a NBW beer, but it isn't.
