Miskatonic St. Henry quad and a tasting cross-post

I'm still drafting/mulling/soaking my review, not the least but frightening, and I have this to entertain me, however briefly.

 

1) Toppling Goliath Broccoli Special Reserve (8.3% canned 1/23/24): A NEIPA from Iowa with Citra, Mosaic, Simcoe, Blanc for flavors of mango, sweet orange, pineapple, and lychee
versus
2) Toppling Goliath Big Suits (9.8% canned 2/22/24): A NEIPA from Iowa with Citra, Mosaic, and Simcoe for flavors of rich orange, resinous pineapple, rich papaya and mango. (Correctly matched the two beers blind)

Winner:
1) Broccoli Special Reserve: Toppling Goliath Imperial IPA Battle. First is Broccoli Special Reserve. Great hop flavors with the addition of Blanc gives it a spritzy grape note.
Next is Big Suits. Even bigger at 9.8%. Almost identical hop. Not surprisingly quite similar flavors. This has a nice rich orange and mango note. It hides the alcohol extremely well and goes down easier than you'd expect. Not a huge fan of TIPAs, but for 9.8% it's quite good. They probably used the same batch of hops for these two beers. Both are good, but Broccoli Special Reserve is great.

 

That's the definition of a big beer. Enjoy!
