What Beer Are You Drinking Now? #4157

Stone Ruination (8.2% canned 1/17/24): An Imperial WCIPA from California with flavors of bitter grapefruit and resinous pine. A sweet, but balancing bitter finish.

This beer has grown on me and the last of the pack. I think it was old on my first try. Authentic Stone hop flavors, ripping pine and citrus. Terrorizing west-coast bitterness. A bit bigger and sweeter than the original Stone. The Stone IPA might be the original, but in a world of DIPAs, this should be a flagship beer for Stone. Full on old-school west-coast style. I think it's better than all of the Deliciousness versions, but I guess I'd have to try them head-to-head to know for sure. I'll probably pick up another pack of these.

An impulse by at Wal mart. Looked bad, smelled worrisome, actually tastes pretty good.
I do a lot of cooking with this kettle and usually use my slow n sear. I make a solid pork butt and brisket that is sublime. But for some reason when I throw cheap chicken drumsticks directly over the coals with some chicka chicka bam lam rub and add bbq sauce at the end that’s the thing my kids want the most. Whatevs it’s cheap

 

A much nicer day today than yesterday. Mild warm sunshine today. Enjoying an Elevated.

Having a local Traditional Dry Irish Stout from Timberyard Brewing. Good stuff!!

 

Fish fry is fire but when it walleye ,it’s over the top. Is it all you can eat?

 

Revolution Deth's Tar (14.8% canned 10/2023): A BBA Oatmeal Stout from Chicago with flavors of rich oats, bourbon, chocolate, tiramasu. Thick, heavy, and sweet.

Happy Friday Evening Beer Advocate. Second try at this one and a more fresh version. It's one of the bigger beers out there. Revolution does some great BBA Stouts, which I'm sure @ChicagoJ can attest to. This is thick and heavy with strong oatmeal, chocolate, and tiramasu flavors. The bourbon is there, but hides the alcohol well. It's thick, but not overly sweet. Still leans sweet and a sipper. A wonder of a beer, but tread lightly.

Unfortunately not out here. I'm hoping for a generous portion. One of the few things I miss about the midwest is all you can eat Friday fish fries. My buds and I back in the day would demolish perch fillets and frog legs!
