What beer are you drinking now? #4174

I actually like it a lot - I'd buy it again. Nice kind of old school hoppiness going on and definitely leaning to more of a west coast style. In what I consider a plus - it avoids juicy, tropical, and hazy - at least not in the sense of a true hazy, it's just kind of opaque. Definitely worth a try if you see it.

 

Been at least 5 years since I last posted here. Had a kid in that time (who is now 3 years old), and have another one due around the eclipse. Hope you all have been well! Cheers!

Absolutely fantastic! Hows the oulde bar feels to ya after a couple days away? Congrats to you and your family!

 

1) Junkyard The Bonnie Situation (7.0% canned 2/19/24): A NEIPA from Minneosta with Strata, Galaxy, Nelson for flavors of juicy peach, grape, and tangerine. Sweet.
versus
2) Phase Three Black Bouquet (8.0% canned 12/28/23): A NEIPA from Chicago with Mosaic, Strata, Idaho 7, and Talus for flavors of lime, guava, green grape, melon, and floral notes. (Correctly matched the two beers blind)

Winner:
2) Phase Three Black Bouquet: NEIPA Battle. Both with Strata plus some interesting hop additions. First is Junkyard. Nice hop combination with Strata, Galaxy, Nelson. Comes out heavy with the peach flavor. Not sure exactly where that's coming from. Also some nice notes of grape from the Nelson. Tasty, but a little overpowering on the peach.
Next is Phase Three Black Bouquet. One of my favorite releases from them, but now past it's time. Still fantastic flavors from the Talus and Idaho 7. I really like the Talus here. Floral berries for a wonderful medley of flavors. Sadly my last one of these. If they ever make this one again, I will be sure to pick up and post more of them.
