This while catching up on the Masters. My middle daughter’s volleyball team took first today. First time first all year. Felt good.

 

Gotta install a gate latch for my dad. I told him it would cost him. Heady. Cheers!

 

BCBS, rated this 4.48 in 2016. I'll stick with that.

I really hate it when people do food prep in my 'studio' and I have to work around it.

 

Jai Alai on a sunny 85 degree afternoon. First swim of the year today, pool temp 70.

 

A spiritual journey for sure. Even if you’re not spiritual. I’ve experienced it a handful of times, but the wife told me I’m too old to do it again.

My first Maibock. (This year)
A collab between Schloss-Eggenberg of Austria and Schilling of NH.
This is truly one of the best Maibocks I've ever had. Freshly baked sweet bread and grain on the nose with a touch of orange peel, lemon and mild pine, floral notes. Sweet grainy dough up front that lingers with mellow yeast, mild tropical and citrus oil notes. Slightly sweet caramel malts and white pepper. Herbs and grass on the drying, lengthy finish. Hot damn this is good.

 

Oakflower Brewing Company in Millington, NJ, brews a highly-regarded NEIPA called Sunstar, hopped with Citra, Motueka, and Riwaka. I was impressed that even @TheIPAHunter gave it a high rating. As part of the two breweries' April Fools Day shenanigans, Oakflower claimed that Autodidact stole the recipe and brewed its own version, called "Sunster!" This variant is earthier, danker, and less sweet but still a great NEIPA. I complain incessantly about a lot of things (just ask my poor wife) but not about the quality of beer in these parts. Cheers!
