    Been nursing this very sweet barley wine the past half hour plus.

    Cellar review link.     Long story short, the standard Straight Jacket is already very sweet for me and this is to 11. Still enjoyable, but OK with this being the last one in my refrigerator. Glad also to have reached equilibrium in terms of 115 each of newer BA and 115 older Cellar Beers (plus 59 drink "fresh" beers defined loosely due to their current age for 289 total).

    Speaking of taking it to eleven....

    Half Acre Vallejo IPA (Nelson/Simcoe). $4 pints? Count me in! Huge Nelson character on this one, bringing big white grape, some yellow peach, papaya, passionfruit, earthy pine resin, and grapefruit peel. An excellent WC IPA. Have missed this one!

    Took a break for lunch.

    Clear light gold color with white cap and lacing.

    Aroma of rich malt and floral, spicy hops with a touch of earthiness.

    Very good medium intensity Euro Style lager flavor with a firm hop bitterness in the finish. The malt carries through remaining rich yet dry and the hops burn up any sweetness resulting in a very dry flavor profile.

    Medium texture with balancing carbonation.

    Another quality Lager/Pils at Aldi prices.

    In the Charlotte airport between flights, this WCIPA is scratching my hop itch magnificently with big citrus and resiny pine notes. Absolutely love it.

    quick beer watching old Raw is War from 2002. while the little ones take a nap. She refuses to eat a chocolate chip bagel which I’m surprised about. I guess I’ll eat it. From a guy who was born in manhattan I’m not too keen on the idea of a chocolate chip bagel but it does taste good just a bit strange.

    goldust has me on the floor laughing.

    Midnight Lager at Busey Brews in Nederland. Drove by this place hundreds of times so I fixed that today. Good beer and delicious wings. Too bad the crew started to chow before I got a photo.:laughing: Cheers!

    Edit: Cell service finally let me download a photo of Boulder Falls. Took the bro there on our drive up.

    It was 85 when I was mowing the lawn, it is currently hailing and sunny, but temperature dropped 25 degrees!

    Foreign Local/Narrow Gauge Apathy is a Cold Body APA (Citra, Galaxy, Riwaka). Southern Hemisphere funk, dank passionfruit, yellow grapefruit flesh and zest, orange peel, yuzu, floral, earthy resin. Dry and easy to drink. Little chalky on the feel, but still good stuff.
