What beer are you drinking now? #4201

I grabbed some of that yesterday, it's a freaking good beer. cheers

 

Don't think I've had that one, but I've had Budvar and....didn't rate it anywhere close to Urquell

Hello folks. Last nite was a hoot and my energy was short-lived when I got home. This coming Tues is my next drumming event.
So far so good today including a happy accident. Our 2 cats don't normally hang out and are mostly separated but one slipped thru an open door as I was bringin' my java downstairs. There were a couple of growls and a hiss or 2 but they hung out for 4 hrs. BEER TIME
A new brewery to me: Arbeiter Pale Ale. I'm late getting to this one. I like it a lot. Really EZ drankin'. Cheers!!


A couple of hrs before showtime last night...

 

This is the first beer from Rogue that I've had in quite awhile and it's a solid booze bomb (maybe a bit too boozy at 13.7% as it deters somewhat from the overall flavor).

1) Equilibrium South St. Pils (5.5%): A German Pils from NY aged in oak with flavors of pale malts, earth, oak, and floral notes. A dry yeast.
versus
2) Fair State Pilsner (5.1%): A German Pils from Minnesota with flavors of lemongrass, yeast, and dry flower. Bitter finish. (Correctly matched the two beers blind)

Winner:
2) Fair State Pils: German Pils Battle. First is South St. Pils from Equilibrium. Aged in oak and gives it a nice earthy and floral component to the beer. Dry and yeasty. Mild bitterness and full mouthfeel. I like the trend of aging pilsners in oak foeder. Gives this a nice flavor component.
Next is Fair State Pils. Stronger aromas here. More lemon and bread sweetness. Also more bitterness which I enjoy. I think both of these are excellent.

Orin, a fine, strong ale from Half Acre. I used to dislike this beer but over the years I've learned to love it.

 

Absolute banger I'm going to savor for quite some time.

New Beer Sunday #1,000 Beer Rating Link. Bottom line, this is likely my highest rated beer to date in 2024. The combination of old school bitter pine and grapefruit blended with an excellent honey flavor which gives me much loved 50/50 Eclipse vibes, and heavy malt that works far better than my typical Imperial IPA experience, really makes this one a special beer for me. May finally get down to the Dojo to pick up some next week.

I don't often drink beer so clear. Warsteiner. And I'm not picking up much skunkiness today, not that that quality ever bothered me. Must be the glass or the palate. refreshing
