DB Anab was probably my favorite barleywine ever but I don't think your tasting notes are off. I loved how aggressive it was. I recently had a can of DBVSOD from Revolution and it was the same sensation but in a stout.

 

I think what I like most about BA is that we get to share and discuss how we all experience a beer differently.

Your take on DBVSOD is quite different than mine. To me, there's nothing aggressive about DBVSOD; it just tastes like a well executed BA Stout. I wouldn't know it was high octane, DB or extended aged unless I was told so. But, there is certainly something special about it, and I can't quite put my finger on a great way to describe it. That said, I enjoy the beer a lot; I just didn't have the same experience.

 

some of that may be due to expectations. I saw double barrel and “VSO” and the ABV and probably went in primed to look for those qualities

 

Wow that’s the exact opposite of the bottle I had this weekend, it was amazing

 

I was excited for it. Opened Continuance B3 a few weeks ago and it was excellent. DB Anab just gave me awful heartburn. Maybe it was just an off night

I assumed I just didn't get the email yet, tbh. I think when 10+10 was released, I got the email 45 minutes after it sold out.

Blended and Parfait 7 in the LC web store

 

Parfait 7 is good. Real good. Not too sweet at all, but incredibly rich. A limit of 1pp is doing everyone a favor.

 

I actually said to my brother that these are usually too sweet for me, so this is music to my ears. I wasn't gonna not get it for $20, but I had fairly low expectations.

 

How is a limit of 1 doing everyone a favor?
