I ended up with two bottles of each. I plan on having them over the next few weeks to determine which I like best. I've had KBS once (in October), Parabola once i(n August) and BCBS recently.

Which of the three is the better beer? Which will age better?

I'm hoping I like BCBS the best as its plentiful in Rhode Island.

Where did you find KBS? I haven't seen any in RI since I started getting into craft during the summer of 2012. BCBS is fantastic and I'd recommend the Coffee Stout if you haven't had that yet. Waiting for Parabola to come out so I can compare as well.

Being such a huge fan of FBS I feel biased to KBS but I will say that you can't go wrong with BCBS. Such a deep, complex brew.

KBS is best fresh. BCBS is best with a little age. Parabola is just always amazing. All are good beers. Just drink em!

    BCBS for the win.

I once thought that KBS was king but after trying BCBS, I'll never look back. Parabola is pretty good but I think it's overrated slightly. :sunglasses:

I traded for two bottles of KBS.

The BCBS I had last week was probably a top 10 beer I've ever had. I'm curious to see how the other two compare. I had an Abyss on Christmas Eve and it was a major let down. I don't recall what KBS and Parabola tasted since I only had a limited amount several months ago. I just know I really liked them at the time I tasted them.

I have a bottle of the Coffee Stout and Cherry Rye which I'll probably have in a few weeks.

I had KBS and BCBS side by side and liked the KBS better. Never done it with parabola but think I will put it to the test this weekend I have all three ready to go. If I had to say right now it would be KBS BCBS and Parabola in that order. But that maybe because its been 3-4 months since I have opened a bottle of Parabola. Each 1 is awesome though.

I prefer aged kbs over fresh bcbs and parabola. But, I prefer aged bcbs over fresh kbs

I may have all three tomorrow night then. What order would be best to have them? KBS, Parabola then BCBS?

I've got a bunch of all of them sitting in my cellar. I don't see them so much as a vs. but as a compare and contrast. They are each amazing in their own special way.

The reason I'd like to do a vs is to spend the most on the one I like best. Sure I'll try and grab a little of each, but I'd like to avoid driving all over the place to find all of them.

2012. I still have two bottles, so I'll age them to see if they improve.

I should've said that I've never had KBS but I can't wait to try it but I'm biased due to the fact that FBS is one of my favorite beers. BCBS is one of the best beers I've ever had. The Coffee Stout, for me at least was the best beer I've ever had. I'd like to try an Abyss but Parabola and KBS are very high on my to try list. But as the others have said, I'm sure you'll see that KBS will be better fresh and BCBS will be better with age. I'm not quite sure about Parabola but FW does do a great job barrel aging their beers so I'd say that it would probably place 3rd among this list.

havent had the 2012 yet but had 07 new years eve and had 10 and 11 recently. If you can get an abyss 10 i would do it that beer is great imo.

I had an '11 Parabola, '12 Black OPS and '12 BCBS all side by side last weekend and the Parabola KILLED the Black Ops and BCBS. Wasn't even close. Parabola is undoubtedly the best -bal imp stout i've ever had that doesn't include anything else (i.e. coffee, chocolate, vanilla, whatever).

I've only had KBS once and liked it a lot - think probably more than BCBS, less than Parabola, but hard to rank when it wasn't side by side, and that KBS has other stuff in it.

I gotta get up to RI someday. I hear it's somewhere close to Delaware and Connecticut.
