Focal Banger so good sip after sip.

 

1) Drekker 3 Greg Tomlette (8.0% canned 5/14/24): A NEIPA from North Dakota with HBC 630 Cryo, Mosaic Cryo, Superdellic and Copper for flavors of orange citrus, pineapple, mango. Tropical, yet clean.
versus
2) Drekker Evil Natured Robots (8.0% canned 4/23/24): A NEIPA from North Dakota brewed with Mosaic & NZH-107 hops for flavors of orange citrus, green pineapple, guava, coconut, and lime. (Correctly matched the two beers blind)

Winner: 2) Drekker Evil Natured Robots
Drekker IPA Battle. First is 3 Greg Tomlette. A collab with BlueJacket in DC. Interesting hop combo with HBC 630, Superdellic and Mosaic. Expecting big tropical notes. Balanced citrus and tropical notes here. Quite a nice collab.
Next is Evil Natured Robots, probably one of my favorite Drekker IPAs. Tropical mosaic plus some of the NZH-107 to brighten it up with the vinous New Zealand flavors. Starting to get a bit thick here at the two month mark, but still drinking excellent. These are actually fairly similar.
3 Greg Tomlette was better than I expected, but I really like Evil Natured Robots even more. Both of these are impressive.

Catahoula Common Beer



Pours a pale light gold color with lasting white cap and good lacing.

Aroma of sweet grain and sharp/floral hops.

Taste on entry is medium malt that's clean, tasty and very satisfying. Hops kick in at about mid palate and laste through the crisp, dry finish and pleasant aftertaste. This Common Beer is brewed with Cascade Hops which give it a familiar, old timey taste that brings back a lot of scent and palate memories for me.

I could go on for paragraphs and every thing I say would be positive. I like California Common beers and I'm glad to find this one in our distribution area.

My last can of this, they no longer brew it, too bad 'cuz I think it's pretty solid. Staying local 7.9 miles.

The wife wanted to kick it up a notch, which sadly doesn't include touching each other. So a shot of Clase Azul and I'm wiping out my last Tree House beers, (in a vet appreciation free glass from 2 years ago......class!!) Julius!
