Have you ever watched this performance by Eliane Elias - it's really excellent. Her drummer Rafael Barata is one of my favorite drummers. He's not in your face, but if you make it a point to listen to him, he's amazing. When I saw her live I couldn't take my eyes off him.

On to the new Mortalis BA Olympiodorus. Unexpectedly, these were $32/500 ml. I took my 3 limit (which will probably turn to no limit by tomorrow), but $2/oz is too much now. Willett barrels aren’t that difficult to come across, and the cacao nib/vanilla profile is getting played out. It’s enjoyable, but that price point crosses into gouging territory. Hell, they haven’t even changed wax colors in what four releases now, so are ingredients really driving up costs that much? Skip the wax if that’s the case.
