    Thanks Larry
I figure if I lay off the pizza I usually eat 2 a week, the pasta I have a few times a week and stop making fresh bread every week it will be a good start. I never had time to cook a lot when I worked but since I retired it’s been my hobby. We don’t have a lot of junk food in the house but we love our starches. Cheers.

Switch to whole wheat for pizza and pasta - that's a good start.

Also, sourdough bread is good because it's processed differently because of the fermented dough.

    https://www.goodrx.com/well-being/diet-nutrition/is-sourdough-bread-good-for-you

Is sourdough bread good for people with diabetes?

People with diabetes can eat sourdough bread or any other bread that fits into their dietary plan. That said, because sourdough bread has a lower glycemic index than other bread varieties, it can be a particularly good choice if you’re watching your blood sugar levels. If you have diabetes, you can work with a dietitian to learn about the right amount of carbs to include in your meals and snacks.

Remember, people don’t usually eat bread alone. So, when you’re eating bread, the glycemic load of the whole meal needs to be considered. Spreads and sandwich ingredients — like vegetables, dairy, and other proteins — help keep blood sugar levels more stable.

    Cheers Lads!

Just poking in for a few. I just finished my first attempt at Beef Short Ribs. I did a chipotle braise with a touch of brown sugar, garlic and onion. I found some beautifully marbled and meaty grass fed ribs for a whopping $3.99 a pound at our local Sprouts. It was a success. 4.5 hours of slow oven braise and then a nice reduction of the sauce for some mashed potatoes. One of my best beef dishes for sure.

No pics cuz I ate most of it as soon as it was assembled.

Enjoying a nice TRVE- Skullseeker - Blonde Ale to wash it down.
