What beer are you drinking now? #4271

I was focused when driving through your state almost 2 months ago. I wish I would have tried to make a stop to get some Veil on my way through the far western part of your state. My focus was to go from Raleigh to get some beer from West Virginia so I could finally get my 50th state.
What is now West Virginia is also where my ancestors settled back in 1751. Yes, I played John Denver while driving through.

 

I actually liked John Denver. He left us too early.

Your ancestors have been here since 1751. That is really impressive. I do not know too many folks whose American lineage goes back that far.

Did you complete the 50 state brews? I think I hit 42 state breweries. Some are really hard to get. That said, next time you get anywhere near Richmond, let me know. I will make sure you get your fill of Veil brews.

 

That’s a fine looking pie, 2 things that always catch my eye on a menu are Shepard pie and meatloaf.

Yes, I am at 50. I also have DC and US Virgin Islands. Still need Puerto Rico, Guam, American Samoa, and Northern Marinas Islands to get everything, assuming there's local brews made in those territories.

My namesake came to what is now the US and settled in what is now known as Grafton WV back in 1751. I would have loved to have gone to that land on my last trip, but, several things conspired against me. First: the road construction on I 77 SUCKED!!!! Second factor: I had to stop going north because of toll roads, which I had no clue existed on it. We don't have them here in central MN. I made it to Ghent before it started. The brewery there was amazing. I was so happy to make it to there, and would gladly go back again.

 

Holy smokes that's a damn good looking SP. I love the Bison man great idea. I may stop by for a piece. Mmm. Cheers!

 

Not a winner with either me or son-in-law but I bought a four pack and my own dad said never waste food or beer. Actually, he used harsher words.

So I am drinking it. It really isn’t that bad. Probably not buy it again anytime soon but definitely not a drain pour.

Nice to sip on this humid (yea 35%, that is nothing right) night with a slight 82 degree breeze. Windows are open hoping we get some winds off the clouds rolling in off the foothills to cool us down a bit. Some rain would be nice, it has been dry!

 

Kinda like the house in Vegas, they always have cash!

Surprised that you and @LarryV saw them live back in the day. Were they that big back then? then again that started a cascade of local concerts for me with James Gang, Savoy Brown, Bad Company and others

 

I've only been to 2 Vikings games in my 51 years, and both were outdoors. The first is when I was a little shit and may dad took me to the Met Stadium back in 1978. The second time was when the jackasses tore down the Metrodome and the Vikings played where the Minnesota Gophers played. I wanted a beer at halftime, and I aborted about half way through, because the college stadium wasn't designed for NFL crowds.

I also have been the outside of the stadium where our our great BA @GreenBayBA lives, wearing a #4 Vikings Farve shirt, but that was like back in 2013 or so.
