Let's Give Lagers Some Love (2024)

Today's lager loving beer, Coronita.

 

Mainly showing off another found glass (the last one was dropped on the floor about a month after it was picked up from the streets of Brooklyn). This one I passed about three times on my morning walks, but finally picked it up. But the star of the picture here is Plzeňský Prazdroj with a best-by date in February 2025. It is a fantastic lager.

A place for video gaming. This photo is 3 Jokers. It's small. Has 6 video poker/slot machines and a small bar that seats 8 with a couple of tv's.

 

Green Bench X Hercules - Exquisite Gold - Bavarian Style Export Lager - Sweet, sharp and crisp.. excellent lager.

 

Bought at the source last week, canned in February, falling off a little, but still pretty good.

 

I throw alot of love to Weihenstephaner Original Premium Lager. Always a favorite! Cheers to lagers!

An interesting blend of 3 different hop varietals in good balance (and Saphir not being a big favorite of mine) with nice doughy malt as a backbone.

 

After work, at Whistle Punk, the Helles and the Vienna Lagers were just what the doctor ordered on a mid-90s day after a 10hr shift.

Fast becoming a real favorite. Great take on the style with an interesting hop blend that really works.

 

I don't want to jinx it, but fresh German imports keep rolling in. This tastes great when fresh.

 

Having another of these this afternoon and savoring the great balance of herbal noble hops to crackery malt. While not my favorite melanoidin malt character, it's definitely tasty and a great Ami take on the style.

I also don't think I've ever had a Helles that blends Tettnang and Hallertau hops -- a very tasty accent.

 

Another excellent Von Trapp lager. They need to start making 15-can mixed cases so it won't be a choice between Dunkel and Kölsch.
