    ...I kind of suspected as much...he's the only other person to have reviewed the beer on BA...probably for one of our small Pliny the Elder trades...

    Yep. Quercus Alba most likely from Southern Indiana but could be Rubra. The white oaks of that region were and are massive and plentiful.

    I'm currently btwx Dayton/Cincy and there are some really nice old...very old farms that have incredible oak, maple & tulip poplars. Nice to see!

    ...I also miss the hickory and the beech trees...but, yeah, all those fine maple and oak species...the Front Range tree experience is rather limited, especially if one love deciduous forests like out east and especially around the Great Lakes...and then there's the firewood dilemma out here...I pay a dear price for (mostly) oak, but I believe it's primarily scrub oak...still burns long and hot, but I'd love to pay out-East prices compared to what I pay out here...I refuse to burn pine and fir unless that is the only thing available...

    2015 Goose Proprietor's (maple, pecans, peppers). Didn't hold up too well. No head, mildly tart. Drink your beer fresh. And these cactus flowers should bloom tomorrow. Cheers!

    Will try to get out to a bar to watch the final White Sox game in Oakland-Alemeda County Coliseum tomorrow. Will get on my soapbox(er) and deride the owners of both of these clubs, along with the owners in Cincinnati, Detroit, Miami, Pittsburgh, and let's face it, several more.

    Oakland is a great city and deserves better.
