@tasterschoice62 @MadMadMike i am such a space cadet anymore, after going on about cinnamon in beers the other day i totally forgot i had picked this one up based on a friend's recommendation and threw it in the cooler for our trip. I love the nitro pour and nose, but this is too sweet.
Spent the day sightseeing in far western NC. Ended up at Fontana Dam, the largest dam east of the Mississippi. FDR ordered it a couple of weeks after Pearl Harbor. Alcoa Aluminum needed the power for its TN plant in order to manufacture the metal needed for the US war effort. It is quite the engineering feat and reservoir with the Appalachian Trail crossing over the top of the dam. Unfortunately, could not get a shot to capture how big.

In 5 weeks will be the 14th year since my sister passed away of a massive heart attack a day after her 52nd b-day. Doesn't seem that long ago. Hope that sciatica eases up on you. Cheers!

New Mastodon and Lamb of God collab

 

Working my way through the Torpedo mix pack, I couldn’t resist the OG any longer. For this old beer nerd, it consistently delivers that classic WCIPA flavor profile that is my favorite of any beer style - crushingly bitter resiny pine, a nice bit of citrus, and just enough caramalt to draw you back for another gulp before you’ve finished the drink you just pulled. An ATF for me.

 

Second Fiddle for supper prep.
