What beer are you drinking now? #4346

Next up on my Lavender Beer Parade™ is Visszahang by STARI. This is another lavender beer from the lavender-producing area north of Lake Balaton in Hungary. This one is made with a little honey, and is also pretty good!



I picked up this beer, and the last one I posted about, in Tihany yesterday. It’s a cutesy little town on a hill above Lake Balaton. Here’s a pano of the east end of the lake, taken from the hill:

Well, I can say Hamburg has more trains than Seattle, but has nothing on Tokyo. At least I can drink a beer on this one-hour-15-stop ride. Although it's hard to actually find cold beer that isn't beck's, and hotels here don't like fridges.

Earlier, walking around trying to decide if I wanted to commit to two hours round trip to visit someplace interesting and hoping to stumble across an esoteric adapter, I also had Paulaner Munchner Hell and Astra Urtyp

 

Man. It’s absolutely nuts how much better European cities are at transit than Seattle (and most other US cities for that matter). Maybe, maybe, I’ll get to ride the light rail to West Seattle before I die (I’m 43 ).

 

OK, third and final installment in the Tihany Lavender Beer Roundup™: Tihanyi Levendulás Búzasör, a wheat beer brewed by HopTop. I’m guessing HopTop are contract brewing it for someone, but their name is on the back of the label, so there you go. This is my least favorite of the three: a bit too sweet, and with some kinda sharpness going on that I don’t love.

Hello BAs! Looking good we are. I had a last minute band rehearsal last night. A 50 mile round trip, and on the way there I notice something oily misting on my rear windshield. Arrived to find a massive transmission leak. But I drove 'er home and it will be towed 2 miles to the shop for it's absolute final service...if it's worth it at all. My buddy Bob followed me home and I had to wash his car last night at about 11:30 removing the back spray of my leak.
I need a beer.
