It's bananas to me that ORB is now on the East Coast - their production isn't that huge but I hope the retail helps them make it.... living nervously these days for my favorite small breweries.
In the Steep is 100% Citra (and Citra Cryo) so if you like the hop, this is pretty darn nice.

    Cheers, L !

Every once in a while I stumble across something worth getting. Vintage Stanley hand planes are one of those that I keep an eye out for, and my neighbor has a garage sale with 4 or 5. I only got two, mostly because before the sale started I told her she was marking them way too low. Oops.
I grabbed the smaller one that she hadn’t marked up and looked it up when I got it home. Damn but these things sell for so much money! A number 2 was worth more than the 5 and 6 I recommended she mark up. So I just bought the number 5, and it turns out it is over 100 years old.
    Stupid good luck sometimes.
Oh, and the beer is not the best Fest bier but it is refreshing.

Rough day of work. Multiple folks let go in the "right to work" way. Some with 20+ years. Corporate cutbacks. I still have my salary and stay in the department with a revamped role to cover some of the now uncovered responsibilities. I'll count my blessings for now. Cheers all!

What's going on with the restaurant, are they going to be re-opening soon, I seem to recall that September was when they were hoping to reopen?

Thanks chef, she's definitely a keeper!! We took leftover containers to our 2 bartenders at Bonefish and they were thrilled. She feeds them every few weeks ...cheers! I'm also really enjoying the Stone Enjoy 10.31!

A new brewery opened...well not necessarily new. A distillery was making these on the far east edge of Houston, but they finally purchased the old Buffalo Bayou Brewing facility. Moved all their beer operations here, keeping the distillery where it is at. These guys have some huge backing, and lots of money...

Anyway, it is a three story brewery, with a bar on each floor.

    Tejas Brewing...

First up, their Hefeweizen. Even for the style this looks ridiculously murky. It is also acidic and sour...what the?

Next, their IPA. Which, again has this weird acidity to it. Other than that, it is like a 6 month old Saint Arnold Art Car. Really muted hops, caramel malt, and sour...WHAT?

    One more from Tejas.

Negra...which is a clone of you know what...

This is like dirty socks. Ugh, the enchiladas are about as basic as it gets, but filling enough. The "salsa" is pathettic and comes in a ketchup sized paper container that is hilariously small.

You can see all the brewing equipment from the second floor. This place has only been open a week, yep they have some money.

I know my friends want to try this place out as well, so at least one more visit for me coming up. They do make whiskey and gin at their distillery. Hoping they actually know what they are doing with that...otherwise, how in the hell is this place in business with big money?

Beer just isn't doing it for me tonight so i decided to open a bottle of wine - some Fetzer Gëwurstraminer and I am rather enjoying it. Haven't had a glass of wine in a long time. Clean, crisp with a dry finish. Cheers!!!

Back home with a Jai Alai. I'm going to wait until tomorrow to do the old can, new can, both canned about 7/30 side by side. I feel that the taste of the new can is slightly different, not in a bad way.
